Will "Iray Smart Converter and Advanced Skin Managers for Genesis 2" work with encrypted content, based on what we know from the 4.9 beta? Interested in an answer from V3Digitimes or DAZ.

If you read what it does you would know there would be no issue with content actually loaded into your scene.
If you watch the video on the page, at one point you can see the auto-detect shows V3D using Studio 4.9.0.2 or something.
And seeing as how there really isn't any bloody encrypted content anymore (at least not yet, and what are the odds that future Genesis 2 content would be Connect only)...I wish this silly spectre would stop raising its meaningless head.

0. The ANSWER IS YES, IT IS SAFE FOR ENCRYPTED CONTENT
1. The program can be applied on any type of Genesis 2 content, encrypted or not
Your initial Genesis 2 figure can be encrypted or not, it does not matter at all. The program acts on the figure in the scene whatever the type of content it comes from. There is no issue using encrypted or not encrypted genesis 2 figure, this is the same for my scripts.
2.a. Yet, my product itself need to be installed via the DIM -for DS public build bellow 4.9.0.54. - (not the cloud)
Presently, with the DS 4.9.0.24 beta, with installation using the cloud under 4.9, all "dse files" failed loading with encryption. Not because of cloud, not because of my scripts, but because of the additional encrypton added which is not supported so far for any dse file of any product.
2.b. OR, my product itself can also be installed from the cloud -for DS public build being or above 4.9.0.54 (but also with DIM)
DS 4.9.0.54 public beta solves the issues of products based on DSE files.
IN ALL CASES, they will work with your encrypted or un-encrypted content!
It's a fair question to ask if this script will lose some functionality with encrypted content, how useful it will be in a few years when there is encrypted content, etc. And I would not be suprised to see G2 content still be sold in a year's time and for all we know everything new might be encrypted by then. An example a script that encrpted content will devaule is Send in the Clones, and I have no idea if it will be updated. It is not non-issue when it can devalue products.
I think the scripts calling files may have issues. As far as my Iray converters are concerned, they don't call files for the figures and will work both with encrypted or not encrypted figures (original figures or materials), it does not matter. They analyse and act on what is in the scene, and not what is in your content. Yet since my own files are dse files, my "Iray Converters" have to be installed unencrypted if you are using a DS version bellow 4.0.9.54. You can install them via the cloud or DIM or product library since 4.0.9.54. My programm will perfectly work installed with whatever the installation mode you chose (on figures and materials installed with DIM or with cloud).
In brief my converters will work both on encrypted or unencrypted content, whatever the type of encryption you have. The only constraint they have is : select a genesis 2 figure.
4.9.0.24 public build ;) the software of my dreams!
edit : 4.9.0.54 is also the software of my dreams (even more since dse are now handled by the cloud!)
So these items have to be installed using the DIM? I only ask because there are manual install download files which Is what I normally use.
Manual install will also work perfectly☺

I think it was probably meaning the problem itself is silly since it seems the encryption is not here any longer (for DS 4.9.0.54)
