Question on Clothes Converter 4.0
in The Commons
Could anyone with experience with this utility comment on ease of use, and effectiveness. It is on sale now and I am thinking of getting it.
Thanks.

CC4 is not a one click conversion. It has a learning curve. Information on it is pretty much limited to the tutorials the vendor provides. Effectiveness varies. The mesh plays a large part in how well the conversion works. How much patience the user has with the app and it's quirks also play into it. Be aware that this app has not been updated in quite some time. It supports up through the Gen 4 figures and Miki 2. It will convert legacy rigged clothing. It does not support or convert weight mapped rigging.
I got it some years ago, used it a few times, and finally abandoned it. The program was tedious to use, had virtually zero documentation, and never performed satisfactorily.
Of course, your mileage may vary. Or you may just have better luck than I did.
Thank you, everyone.

I have used it. On some meshes, it works fairly well. Some meshes are a train wreck after conversion. I also bought the Morph Magic item from the same vendor, and they make a nice pair. Neither one is perfect. I wanted to convert some V3/A3 outfits to V4 with morphs. The A3 0009 uniform converted fairly well. The Harem Dancer V3 outfit was a complete disaster. I muddled through with Hexagon and Figure Setup Tools to fix it.
I found that Crossdresser 4 by Evilinnocence does a fairly decent job of converting clothing and does come with a wide variety of plugins.. The program itself if free but the plugins are where the cost comes into play..
