Olympia 7

Thoughts? I think she looks pretty good but I'm also pretty poor. Nice to see a distinctly different style/shape.

Edit: From the pics up at the moment, I think Olympia looks cool as a concept, but FWSA Rahele HD and especially Nathalie (assuming the Silver one since the bundles are all the same) look really good in those promos.

  • Maybe she's more voluptuous than Karen, but Karen covers a lot of the ground that Olympia covers in terms of theme.

It's an interesting amount of voluptuousness in a post-Bethany period, I guess. Bethany still takes the cake. I still would have to see how Olympia stacks up against Karen, though.

Aside from female Thor outfit, maybe the Divinity outfit, the outfits are not so exciting to me.

I'll have to see how much after my punch discounts, I guess. $47 right now for Pro?

That's interesting; I see Karen as just being a sort of hero addon for Victoria who could have done all the same things, whereas Olympia could fill her and a Lilith type role, sort of curvy fantasy type. I see it as a totally different type of curvy compared to Bethany so I couldn't really compare the two.

Not too interested in any of the outfits either but then I'd rather make my own.

Yeah I'm seeing $47 with 5 punches for Pro.
Just the three figures comes up to $33 though so I'm not really sure which to pick.

    I wasn't seeing $47, I was seeing $66. And yes, I am a PC+ member.

5 stacks of punches reduces $66 to $47.

In your cart? On the site it displays as $66 - that's the 51% discount for new release + PC+. Once in cart mine updates to $47.

  • It took a while for the price to catch up for me.  Just saw it drop for me.

Also, isn't it kind of weird that both bundle characters are wearing hair and clothing that isn't actually in the bundle or at least listed in the description? They look stunning but if I was a brand new user looking at that bundle, I'd expect those clothes/hair to be in the bundle somewhere. Obviously that's often not the case, but these are the kind of things Daz could pay more attention to since they said they were so concerned about new users being confused.

    +1

    :)

Personally, I like the character; FWSA Rahele, is the first of theirs I've not been amazed by. It looks suntanned as opposed to the appearance a naturally tanned character should have. I'm thinking it's likely the IRAY shader. Agree that Nathalie looks great.

I also really like Olympia, but I've gone off the idea of new UVs so not sure if I will get it. So the characters are interesting, but the rest of the bundle not so much. When Daz could do no wrong, in my eyes at least, I bought pretty much all G3; now things have changed.

I certainly prefer her to some I own, but I'm still cautious about spending the credit I have left.

    Olympia

Ok, as promised few month ago (the "soooooooon!!" thing ), Olympia is out now. And for me it is a mixed bag of feelings with a thin tendancy to  the disapointpent.

I was waiting a "Olympia 6" like to G3F kind of character, a bit round but most important, with a thin but apparent muscularity, making of this girl the strong girl of the G3F. In addition to this, The O6 chars have some nice faces, with personality: I don't find this in the O7 pack.they are nice, but I feel like there is something missing.

On the positive side, I really like the package, with fantasy oriented outfit - mostly greek - (with that name sould it be diffirent? ;-) ).

In short, where is the muscularity with strong faces?

As usual I'm not particularly taken with Olympia 7 herself, however I do really like the model standing on the right of the 3rd promo image for the Divinity Outfit (http://www.daz3d.com/divinity-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s).

Does anyone know which model that is? I can't tell.

That's a subliminal promo picture feature invented by the DAZ Sales Team. The less you think you can afford them, the more attractive they look.

    Wow!

    Height: 5'9.3" (176.11 cm)

Positively short for a Daz model. :)

I noticed that too and it was so refreshing to see. As the tall warrior type that height actually suits her, unlike the other giants.

Just another morph that I can come close to with base morphs for me, but I do like the outfits associated with the release. As for height, since there is a scale slider, I never pay attention.

btw: does she have her own uv or will skins from characters basing on her need her to work?

She looks way better than the other 7 girls and reminds me a lot of Jessica Alba.

    CHEERS!

The height slider doesn't even get most characters down to their average heights for their gender. Obviously it's not particularly important if you're just loading a character in Studio and hitting render, but when you're using the characters in other programs, the units matter.

The real problem Victoria. G2F got modelled off V5 Supermodel and since then they've been creeping up in height. V7 looks stunning but she's too tall and far too muscley (but not as way too muscley as V6 was.) I'm guessing it's because she's meant to be able to fill every role imaginable, but that steals uniqueness away from the other Originals. As a result, the other females are all too tall because of her, she looks more athletic than Eva (which is supposedly Eva's thing according to her description, but she just looks like another nice Victoria to me) is as athletic and strong as superhero Karen, making her muted as well, and is taller and looks stronger than greek warrior Olympia. Bethany is also slightly too tall but looks great next to the others, Josie is fine and Arabella's height suits her build nicely. If V7 was more in the style of V4 the whole range of G3 would make a lot more sense.

The characters based on her use the default UVs as far as I've seen so far, but they'll need her shape to become their correct shapes.

I see some resemblance as well. Olympia 7 looks great as a Valkyrie.

Other than the hair under the winged helmet, I don't know which other is missing from the bundle?  If you meant the long banner, that is.

Hair 1 = ? (idk some long hair but not in a style of the Olympia hairs)
Outfit 1 = ? (looks like something OOT made though)
    Hair 2 = ? (looks really cool)
Outfit 2 = ? (also cool but not really my style)

I'm not trying to knock on the PAs or anything: I get why it might be impractical to have artists making the characters have the clothing and hair from the bundle on hand, but that's the sort of thing Daz should organise for them if they want everything to be newbie friendly. As a brand new user coming to the shop I'd be confused that those items weren't in the bundle (or that characters didn't come with hair, etc.) I wouldn't be thinking "how can I get this on my fancy new Connect system; I'd be thinking, "why is my new character bald and where are the hair and clothings in the promo pictures and why is there no information about them anywhere?"

Promo pictures almost always look great but very often they do not give customers the information we actually need (nor do the PA guidelines tell them to, only to look good.)

My fault for Nathalie :D I usually just promo with whatever fits the character theme I am selling to Daz as they almost always they redo my promos using items in the bundle, or at least sold here at Daz. I was actually suprised to see they kept them as they were lol. As for the items used, the hair is Dragonfly Hair by goldtassel here at Daz and the outfit is Fantasy Wraps by lilflame at Rendo.

Ah, thank you! It's really interesting to find out how these things work. Also Nathalie looks amazing.

Also also she was already instabuy but your reply made her more instabuy..er. I'd say I'd go buy a different one of your characters as well but I already bought all of your new ones that were released this week xD

The same thing happened to me with Silver's Grace for Eva being part of the Sweet Home bundle on special earlier this week but fortunately I managed to pick up Eva at the same time for like $4. I can get Olympia down to $9 right now so I'll probably just pick up her and Nathalie and then grab Rahele some other time.

8.80 each for the two characters in the bundle and 15.74 for Olympia herself. A little hight for a character imo. But my scrooge tendencies get stronger this time of year. devil So 33 for the characters or 47 for the bundle which includes lots of items I wont use; poses are useful but not a reason to buy it.

The only reason to consider is the Tears of the Gods outfit: clothes are something I don't buy, except the occasional bikini - dynamic tend to look more realistic. But the hammer in the product is singing its siren song. Obviously the gods forget to get rid of the sirens /nod

LOL Heels on an outfit like that - sorry I don't buy those on principle - guess that means no pro bundle as the prices wont almost match.

15.74 -$6 coupon = 9.74, + 8.80 puts Nathalie at $18.54 - 10% gift card = ~ 16.67? Or something like that. Then I'll probably pick up Rehele at some point later when I'm not on the verge of financial ruin from Daz's subliminal marketing campaign against my credit card.

The bundle is a great deal at $47 (and -$6 -10%) if you'll actually use it but I've found that I pretty much never use anything from the other bundles apart from the characters. Hair really hasn't improved over time the same way the characters have so there are only a few I use regularly and I prefer making my own clothing. If I wasn't so poor from all the past sales I'd probably just buy the pro bundle, but pennies are tight!

...why would you pinch a penny, anyway?
