Well, Interesting Offers Today re: Gift Card

Well, if you want to get a discount on the gift card of 6%, you have to buy two new things. So you have to pay cash or credit card to do that, as you can't purchase a gift card with gift card funds so that option is taken out of your payment choices. And if you buy one new release, you get that bundle at 75% off, so in the cart THAT goes too- (EDIT- unless you do a second order and buy another new release, and use the gift card money) and if done the first way, you have to pay cash or credit card then for that too.

Which then may really limit how much you can put toward the gift card. Oh well, the thought(s) were nice though!

    The buy in order to buy gift card at the same time thing is super inconvenient to those of us that rely on buying gift cards to shop. I like the way the punchard sale gives me the discount tied to my account (even if building it up was a ridiculously drawn out process.)

    Having to buy at least 2 oof 8 items really limits things, too (at least for me.)

    - 2 sets of poses: already know how to move joints for free
    - character: already have V7 and many clones of her
    - room and poses: pretty but I really like modelling rooms (and have a load of them from Daz from PC+ already)
    - 3DL wet maps: if I want realism I'll just use Iray
    - heels: ehhh they don't really work for me
    - flare clothing thing: this sounds interesting but I'd rather model clothing from scratch rather than mix and match / edit other pieces
    - aeon soul hair: instabuy yes pls (except not instant because every time I bought instant in the last few days a sale requiring me to do so appeared later on so I know I have at least 2 days to do so and will wait)
    (Standard Disclaimer: I'm not saying anything isn't well made or that people won't or shouldn't want to buy it simply that they don't appeal to me for my uses.)

    I was pretty omg at the new bundle going from $60 to $10 or so for me but I don't know if I'd ever really use any of it. Super cool offer to have up though - shame all the given links on its page 404.

    If you already have any punches, then you already can get a discount on gift cards.  How much depends on how many punches. The 6% discount is after the punch disount, stacking in the usual way. I have 5 punches already, so 10% punch disount + 6% special discount = 15.4% discount. Even though I had money left on my current gift card, this was too good a deal to pass up.

    I use gift cards.

    Frankly I'm not interested in one this month unless it is around 30% or better, with no buy to get it catches.

    I'll see what's available in January; can't afford to allocate the funds this month.

    As far as I'm concerned get if you buy with, puts the price up. I tend not to use those, unless I would 100% certain bought the item anyway. If I'm in doubt I don't bother. It saves me cash in the long run as I rarely buy when no credit.

    Yeah, I keep debating getting punch card but my analysis always comes back to 'spend money on stuff I don't really want to save less money on stuff I do. Meh'

    Which is fine, let me point out -- if you DO happen to want stuff on the punch list, then awesome!

    I wasn't planning on buying anything geared for the punches either.  Fortunately, I ended up with two just because two of the PC items were punchable, one from last week and one from this week.  Then I found I couldn't walk away from getting the Sickleyield's Beautiful Skins for G3M as I already had G3F and I love those products.  They are super fun.  That gave me 3 puches with appropriate discounts.  Now, I'm up to 4 and I haven't really even been trying.  At least it gives me a good deal on gift cards because I need to get one now that the raining men contest will be over soon and I don't know if I'll get another chance to buy gift cards at that kind of price.  Just waiting to see if anything that I absolutely have to have pops up to get me that 5th punch before buying the gift card.

    But, yeah, I didn't want to buy anything just to get the discounts this time around.  I ended up spending too much money the puchcard round on some stuff that I still haven't figured out how I actually plan on using it.

    Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I've been at 5 punches this past week and scooped up the stacked gift cards both times- but it sure got expensive on this one buying two new releases, and that bundle was super cheap, but still another $10+.

    It's interesting that we started with a buy one for 10% bonus off (I forget the exact rule?) last week, and a few days later there was buy a new release for +6% off gift cards, which has grown to buy 2 new releases for +6% off. I can't really complain after I put in a bunch of tickets asking them not to put identical items on sale days at continually better prices each day, but at this rate by the end of the month there'll be one for 'buy 17 new releases and get +2% off gift cards!'
