Is there a need for How to use Shader Baker with G3 Tut? - done

To use Shader Baker on the G3 figures requires a little work around BUT is easy [pre-supposing one has Hexagon and at least 4.8 beta] however I do not know if the um, "minor detail" was adjusted for in the latest release. So before doing all the work for a tutorial thought I'd check to see if there is a need for one.

If after removing real shaders, one can get a texture template such as illustrated in the latest release then kool, if not, I'm willing to make the tutorial.

  • Please do. Very few people use all the capabilites of Daz Studio Pro. The more we know the more we can create.

    Thank you

I don't even know what a shader baker is or what it is good for. If the tutorial starts with that basic of explanation, it would be informative for me.

It basically allows you to create a texture file from a surface, only works with the default surface shader or a ShaderMixer shader that has the Baker brick properly connected, I normally only use it to make textures from tile able seamless textures

The reason most people bake to texture is so they can get a specialty procedural shader effect ,i.e. like marble, transferred to an actual texture map that can be applied in other programs with different render engines and shaders.  Being stuck to only the default DAZ shader makes baking in Studio rather useless.

Thank you both for the explanations. They were very helpful.

  • Please do, Patience.  I have not even delved into shader baker so I'm not exactly sure what it is capable of.  Any tutorial you can make would be appreciated.  Make sure you add it to Chohole's new forum post just for tutorials as well.  It can be found here in the Art Studio Forum.
