Anyone know if it's ok to use screen cpature sequences from sites like yahoo or google maps? Same for sattelite tracking sites. I asked at this latter but no one replied. 

Conversely, do artists here (attempting to sell their creations) use www.copyright.gov/eco/ ?

    well Google Earth pro is still free as far as I know but has some restrictions you can read their EULA

    maps as far as I know quite dear to pay for commercial use open street map the free alternative

    sattelite imagery belongs to the aerial surveying company named and carries copyright notices on Google earth, you can buy some from Russian sattelite companies cheaper for commercial use, I looked into it once
