This version of 4.9 has fitting issues and its being addressed. Was working in the previous beta. Looks like when you open a saved scene all hell breaks loose in some cases. I had a guy with floating body hair that refused to fit on the figure. Then when I opened that scene in 4.8 all was fine again.

...hmmm, maybe it's good I haven't been able to download the beta (no Net connection to the Workstation).

It's really making me grit my teeth because there's a bug in 4.8 that causes a bunch of stuff to crash, and then that bug that causes a lot of clothing I use not to fit right in 4.9.

    Sooo.... yeah.

Yeah...but 4.9 is still a beta, so those kind of things are to be expected.

Oh sure. I'm not mad at them or anything. Just chagrinned at trying to figure out what to do.
(For the most part I'm just working around the 4.8 bug where possible, because it can be fixed by turning off metallicity on affected models, which isn't terribly bad. Replacing uniforms and other clothing, harder. ;)

Can you give me an example of how you might cause the crash? I dont have alot of crashes with 4.8, very rarely.

It's an Iray specific bug...certain combinations in the Iray materials will cause a crash, because of a bug in the Iray version in 4.8.   That bug is fixed in the version of Iray in 4.9 (yes, the fix had to come from Nvidia/Iray).  But, right now there's a number of bugs in the beta, that if you are doing production work or need a pretty stable, consistent environment, it can't be assured.

  • so i am like haing a lot of model that which is not working
if i use older version they will be back?

    WSpecifically how aren't they working?

If it is the fit-to problem, then yes.  If it is items not found...maybe.

AnotherUserName: The two cases I've run into are the http://www.daz3d.com/marcoor-fg-c4 and http://www.daz3d.com/dystopian-worker-drone

With Iray shaders and Metallicity > 0, crash on render (or Nvidia preview)

Which is a problem since several of the major characters in my webcomic are Dystopian Worker Drones. Though setting metallicity to 0 has been ok.

If it's not found, make sure that the beta is using the same content mapping as the previous version (Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager).  Or if you have installed content with Connect, it's possible that it could be a problem with the Connect file structure...in which case you'll need to file a bug report (the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page will lead you to where to file the bug report).

To the OP; not sure if you've noticed, but it's normal for there to be only underwear and swimwear (of the skimpy variety) so Daz is merely correcting a bug that allows normal clothes. laugh
