Can you save and then use figure weight mapping / bones on a different figure?

Hello,

basically title. I bought an RDNA figure that comes with a DAZ version and a Poser version, but some of the Poser morphs aren't in the DAZ version. I can import the Poser one in fine, but when I pose it it shears apart. I've been told this is because it's using Poser weight mapping. The figures look identical (but their geometry is slightly different so morph loader shenanigans didn't work).

Can I save the DAZ version's rigging and weight mapping and slap it on the Poser version so I can pose it? I've never touched bones and weightmapping.

Edit: I was able to convert the Poser version to Triax and transfer the bones, but it's now it's shearing less. It's a start, I guess.

Edit2: Temporary solution found! I fit the Poser figure to the DAZ one and made all of the DAZ one not visible, but selectable. So I active pose the figure with the correct mapping and the poser figure follows perfectly.

You can transfer the morphs using the transfer utility using the one you converted to triax.

Just remember to untick everything except transfer morphs. If that doesn't work.

Open the cr2 in DS and dial in the morph. Then export as an object file and reload via morph loader.

This is how I transfer poser morphs for Dawn and dusk.

Don't forget to save the morph as an asset.

My issue with the export via morph loader is that while the Poser varient and the DS one look identical, their geometries do not match and the morph loader throws an error.

Two possible reasons for the mesh difference, STAR (you mentioned RDNA in one of your other threads) had a mesh tweak early on, as a result older morphs don't work on the newer version and newer morphs don't work on the older version (ran into this one when converting Poser versions over to DS for one of my friends, royal PITA), second reason is duplicate vertex created when the grouped mesh was loaded into a modeling program.
