Stratus McCleod assembled on Genesis 2 male figure?
in The Commons
Ive been wondering, how can I assemble the Stratus McCleod character -- its morph, hair, clothes, props, and textures -- on a Genesis 2 Male figure?

Comments
This should allow you to transfer the body and morphs, along with GenX http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2
the hair, just load, align and parent to the figure, the clothes should autofit. The textures are going to be the issue, gen3 textures won't work on GM2.
You'd need the GenX2 add-on for Hiro too in order to transfer the morph: http://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-a3-and-h3
For the texture, you could always convert it to M4 with Texture Convertor 2 and use the M4 version on G2M. But that means you'd need the following products :
OK, so far I was able to create a Hiro 3 clone -- not with GenX -- for Genesis 2 Male (G2M) and autofit Stratus' clothes and hair on G2M. I also used Texture Converter 2 to convert Stratus' textures from Michael 3/David 3 to Michael 4, and then place the converted textures on a G2M with Michael 4 UV.
I am currently still trying to figure out how to use GenX to transfer Stratus' INJ-Head morph from Hiro 3 to G2M.
This should not be too difficult. Load Hiro 3 as the source model, apply the Stratus injection pose, then right click and Select All Values with Non-Zero value, and then transfer to G2M as a Single Morph. This is my effort below, original H3 on the left, G2M with Stratus morph (and 100% Hiro 3 morph) on the right. Note that like many of Thorne's morphs, both male and female, the eyes are screwed up during the transfer. I scaled both eyes to 90% normal size, and then x shifted them by -0.8. Note I did manage to transfer the H3 morph with Gen X, but yours should work as well.
I do not have TC2 so I did not transfer the texture over. The one on G2M in my image is Dryden, also by Thorne.
the outfit doesn't come with Mr. McCleod.
Stratus McCleod of the clan McCleod, same clan different vintage.
The pants and sword are probably those from Dagon: http://www.daz3d.com/stratus-mccleod-for-hiro
GenX keeps giving me these two errors, "Error loading clone morph." "Error creating morph from clone."
What are you doing to get these errors? Is this when you press the load figure option? For this you should be selecting the hiro 3 cr2 file not the clone.
This is what I have been doing on GenX's Transfer tab:
1) I click the Load Figure button and select the Hiro 3.cr2 file.
2) From Content Library I drag the INJ-Head file -- !_Stratus_INJ.pz2 -- for Stratus McCleod into GenX's Morph list.
3) I click the Select button, and pick Transfer: For All Non-Zero Values.
4) I make these selections for these drop down lists,
Mode: Create single morph
Shape: Hiro 3 -- There is another button to the right of this drop down list. On that button I pick Smooth.
Target: Genesis 2 Male
5) I click the Transfer button, and then a small window gives me those two error messages.
Note -- There are some other options below left on their original settings. They are
Limits: -10 to 10
Resolution: 50
The following checkboxes are checked: "Compress generated files", "Transfer controlled transforms", and "Transfer dial groups"
The following drop down lists are set to: "Ignore conditional morphs", and "Replace existing files".
That is pretty much what I did as well. I loaded the injection script by pressing apply pose and then browsing to the file, but your way should have worked as well. Did you check under Head for a morph labelled "StratusFace4a" with a value of 1. These should be the only thing you are transfering, and should be ticked after your step 3).
I picked Edge instead of Smooth on step 4), but I doubt that makes any difference.
I assume you got the error after you pressed the "Transfer" button? This should have popped up a box asking you to name your new G2M morph.
Do you definitely have this product: http://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-a3-and-h3 and it is correctly installed?
It will not work if you do not.
If you are getting errors at the transfer stage this should not be due to your hand transferred G2M clone, as that is needed after the morph is created, but not whilst it is created.
Yes, I do have GenX AddOn Gen3 for A3 and H3. There are two versions of Genesis Generation X and its plugins, right? Version 1, and version 2?
I have been using version 2 for both Genesis Generation X and its plugins; I used DAZ Install manager to install these.
Yes, I got the error messages after clicking the Transfer button.
Very strange, that is exactly the same as me, Gen X version 2, updated plugs in, and installed via DIM, so I am stuck what to suggest next, other than applying the pose like I did, and use edge conversion, but I would be surprised if that fixed the issue. As an aside, I bought TC2 on CyberMonday, not just to try out this texture, but it has been on my wishlist for a while, and as part of the CyberMonday promotion plus my PC+ PA coupon, I got the $35 bundle for a shade over $10. I only have the V3 and V4 plug ins, but the Hiro skin converted just fine, although to V4 not M4. I have the V4 UV for G2F, and this UV set also works on G2M. Below is my conversion with the correct skins, and they do look very similar now, though minor differences can be seen. Now I have the correct skins I noticed that the eyes are still too big, and so I scaled them down to 65% to get them to fit and moved them slightly in the x and y directions. As before H3 on the left, G2M on the right.
I wish you luck trying to sort out your GenX issues, have you managed to use GenX to transfer anything over, or have you only tried with Stratus?
Just thought, you should only have Gen X version 2 installed, if you have version 1, this should be uninstalled.
I do not have version 1 of Gen X. Version 2 of Gen X and its plug-ins are installed in my computer.
Have you managed to transfer any other morphs with GenX?, for example Genesis to Genesis 2, or M4 to Genesis etc
Yes, I was able to transfer Genesis 1's Dryden head morph and Dryden Ear Morphs 1 & 2 to Genesis 2 Male figure.
What about a morph from a non genesis character like M4? I am just wondering if the issue is with just Stratus, or with other non-genesis figures aswell
I was able to transfer a Victoria 4 morph of Grace to Genesis 2 Female. This morph is a .pz2 file type.
I also tried to transfer an Aiko 3 morph of Rei to Genesis 2 Female, but I got the same two error messages that I got before with Stratus. The Rei morph is also a .pz2 file type.
Hmm, so it seems the issue is with the A3 H3 add on pack. Maybe a good idea to uninstall this with dim, delete the zip you have, redownload, and then reinstall it.
I did all of this, and I still get the same two error messages when I try transfer the Stratus morph to Genesis 2 Male. I even tried both Genesis 1, and Genesis 2 Female again, and I still get the same error messages.
Was I suppose to reset my computer after uninstalling and deleting the A3 H3 add-on pack with DAZ Install Manager?
I doubt anything that drastic is required.
I just thought, do you have http://www.daz3d.com/a3-and-h3-shapes-for-genesis ? It is a required product for http://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-a3-and-h3
I was under the impression the shapes were not needed for transfer to Genesis 2, but I may be I am wrong. I do have it, so maybe it is needed.
Yes, I do have A3 and H3 shapes for genesis.
Here are the DIM screen shots for everything Genesis X2 related I have installed, in case this helps you
One other question, are you doing this on DS 4.8, or any other version? I am using 4.8, latest release.
I am doing this on DS 4.8, the latest release. I have all of the products you have pictured in your DAZ Install Manager, except for Liam for H3, installed on my by computer via DAZ Install Manager.
Ok, I don't have any other suggestions other than submitting a ticket, sorry.
Ok, thank you for help.
Dimension3D helped me solve my problem. An extra copy of Genesis 1 that did not have a Hiro 3 clone was confusing GenX. After deleting that extra copy, I was able to use GenX to transfer the Hiro 3, Stratus McCleod, head morph to Genesis 2 Male.
Great, I am glad it got sorted.
