Using PMD morphs (Poser) in DS?

Hello,

I know this topic was beaten to death more times than can be counted, but it's been so long since I've read about, I have no idea if my knowledge is still relevant.

Is there a way to use poser PMD morphs in DS currently? I found a 3rd party figure I want to play around with, but all the morphs were made for poser only x_x.

Might want to have a look at this. With some hacking, you might get it to work. The old plugin for PMD files last worked in DS3, but does not work in the current versions of DS4.5+

Is there a way to export from poser in a way that Daz can use the morphs? I have an old version of poser from back when I used it, I just remembered.

The Deadliest Mixer product at RDNA are M4 Clown morphs.  The morphs are supplied as a .pmd file that are applied with an Injection preset.  In Poser, I loaded M4, applied the preset to inject the morphs. Saved M4 back into the Poser figures library as a .cr2 and named him Deadliest Mixer.

In DAZ, launched GenX and loaded the Deadliest Mixer.cr2, selected the morphs and transferred them to Genesis 2 Male (or Genesis).

I am fairly sure in Poser you can select an option to stop files being saved in binary format (ie pmd). Thus if you save a character with morphs they are impedded into the CR2 rather than saved separately in a PMD file. The CR2 with the imbedded morph can then be read into DS4+. I confess I have not done this for some time, indeed I very rarely use Poser these days.

  • In Poser go to Edit>General Preferences>Miscellaneous tab and turn of Use External Binary Morph targets, then resave the item.
