Love Shaders!
So dug out the ol' tutorial and thought to give it another try. I don't know ... I can make things disappear real good with that setup.
One shader looked 'real good', nice puffy cloud type shader thing, tried one more step before saving it and "poof". ;-(
Also got something which was possibly "not quite how we're supposed to make 'em" but hay, got 2 images and 2 colour options on one dial! Looked good on the "cube" however on figures it would require some thinking to figure out which "other" dial needed tweaking so one could see both images on the same surface so nothing to share yet.
Anyhow, here's a test render, 2 images and 2 colours on 1 dial on 1 surface of 1 cube ;-)

While poof! is not good (and I bet very frustrating) it looks like you are putzing right along now! (And hopefully having fun.)
Sure am :-) Had to try and replicate whatever I did to get that cloud back lol ... and got a beach ball and all kinds of things lol ... even makes a pretty nifty planet/star/whatever have you too. Have a few images ready as instructions for useage ... given the exhorbatant prices I charge hopefully people will overlook the noobie 'stakes.
A few teasers ... got a "plastic type" effect such as one might see for raincoats, suns, beach balls [transparent with speckles] and one that keeps a dark ring around the figure and/or a shading effect over it. I'm not really into toons but was trying for an effect somebody had been asking about. No lights were used in the render for the pink outfit, that's the shader on it.
Edit: to add one more teaser ... made a spotlight too ;-)
Okay ... so the post for the giveaway is here: Forum thread
Cheers. :-)
