Daz to unity FBX animation error

ericross57ericross57 Posts: 4
December 2023 in Unity Discussion

the character imports perfectly fine through the bridge but When I export the aniamtion via FBX i get this error when attempting to make the animation humanoid. Not cant change the name of the bones through daz or unity it seems.

Avatar creation failed:

Ambiguous Transform 'Genesis8_1Male/hip/abdomenLower' and

Genesis8_1Male/Genesis8_1MaleEyelashes/hip/abdomenLower' found in hierarchy for human bone

Spine'. Transform name mapped to a human bone must be unique.

If i make the character and animation generic the character has these strange arms but plays the correct head animation

Yes, this is how it is. You can report it to Daz 3D (below HELP then Contact Us).

I just use characters from Daz 3D in Unity by changing their rig to Humanoid

and then use Humanoid animations from Unity store.

There are a lot of them, both free and the paid ones.

gotcha. I like being able to pose it in Daz and create the animations with the body parts easily. I think the issues is with how daz exports bone names. theres 3 hips identically named and im not sure i can change that, which is why unity is throwing a "Ambiguous Transform"

Try exporting the animation with a character that has the eyes lashes and tears removed.

8.1 chars don't export well.I'd advise , if you do not need body morphs, to export to character creator then export to unity. Or use gen 8 and below.
