I would like to know if models by CHK2033 work in DS ........

I love theses cute little critters that CHK2033 makes and sells at Renderosity ,it says they are for Poser only ,but lots of stuff say Poser only or DS only and can still be used by the other program with a bit of tweeking ,does anyone who uses both Programs have any of these little guys and could test or has tested the usability in DS .I would really appreciate knowing  a firm yes or no .......instead of guessing .Thanks in advance.

If you read the readme you can see that it has Jpg textures which are set up as poser PZ2.   It should work, with some mat tweaking I would think.

The readme on Blue and Pink says that they don't work properly on versions of poser before P10, though...

I have most of them, and use them exclusively in Studio. CHK2033 also recently released DS compatible hair for Bad Birdy, so there's at least acknowledgment of Studio users

I did have some pose strangeness with Blue in one saved scene, but it was easily fixed.

The main reason why any standalone characters would not work properly in DS is if they have been weightmapped using the poser weightmapping available in Poser 9 and 10. If Esemwy says these characters are working fine in DS, then clearly there are not weight mapped characters.

Here's the strangeness I was referring to

It happens when I reload a saved scene. I haven't checked all the other characters specifically for this problem, but I have a number of scenes with Bad Birdy that save and load just fine.

To fix this one, I do a Copy Figure from the parameters tab, load a fresh BLUE, and Paste Figure to it.

This particular Blue is significantly scaled, which I suspect is the source of the problem. I haven't found it anoying enough to search for a proper solution.

Thank you everyone for your responses ,especially Esemwy .Though I have to admit that what you called a little strangeness ,would probably had me freaked out .........but yeah I'm gonna get me some critters!!

  • Pink and Blue with Daz and Poser compatibility at sold at YURdigital. Both are included in the same package. Don't know what only the Poser version was sold at Rendo. I have not purchased the figure.

CHK2033 characters are created with help of Daz Studio Pro 4.7 (or higher) and they don't have poser specific shaders (that is for Pink/Blue, but I doubt it has changed since). He grouped/rigged/weight mapped them all in Studio then saved them as a DS file, after that exported a cr2 version for poser runtime. It's just that he does not release the DS files for some personal preferences, but they are originally made with DS.

Hi sorry i know this is extremely late but yes all my characters are created exclusively in Daz Studio, but then as was already said the cr2 are sent to poser for the textures and packing in poser format ..if you try to save a scene in studio you should convert the weight mapping back to Daz format so it doesnt F up when you load it again.

Even though i do/did have a PA account set up here i felt that i dont really know how to properly pack up my items for Daz distribution the correct way because i only learned Daz last year (and that was only rigging and charcter creation) but all the other things in daz i know nothing bout (like all the files i need to gather together where they should be...)

BLUE and Pink was packed up for Daz (but even those from what someone told me arent in the "correct way to package items" so i stopped after them.

But hopefully this year i will be moving all my stuff (new not released stuff) over to Daz3D only (that is if they still want me here)

It's a relatively recent DAZ Studio bug feature. I had it happen recently to a dance scene with a couple of Josie 7.Their arms and hands got crumpled, and their eyeballs sucked inside their skulls.

I just opened the file, tried your procedure pasting to a couple of fresh Genesis 7, and salvaged a lot of posing and morphing. Parented props pasted to the new figures. The textures needed to be redone, but that was pretty quick.

    Thank you.

I look forward to seeing your stuff here, perhaps in future you would consider releasing DS versions of the items availble now, I love the look of your critters but don't like buying Poser only items and don't really like purchasing from Rendo at all these days, the site is such a mess.

  • Thank you

and maybe have to see first.

  • Will be great to see your stuff in store here, Love your little characters.

Happy to helpout if you need anything just drop me a message.
