i think the product description is very unclear.

Most environment and prop sets in the store are standalone, so any exceptions to this should be stated more matter of factly.  This product is motel room set dressing, and the product description should work to describe what it is, it shouldnt be described as something counter to what it is.

The store page SHOULD include REQUIRED PRODUCT MOTEL up top. It's obviously an ADD ON pack for the larger set. It is part of the larger bundle.  But the information should be made clear on the store page.

This is a Daz original. This was originally made by bluebird3D who is American but the mistake in the information on the store page clearly rests with Daz3D. Bring it to their attention. It is their job to correct it.

Problem is, it does not actually REQUIRE the motel product (excepting the presets). I can just load one of the various other room products in my library, use those props with that and it will work just as well.

Providing as much information as possible is the best way for customers to make informed decisions. This is a simple fix at the store page level to reduce confusion.

I agree with the OP, the description refers to "room presets" needing the motel, not "the room requires the motel".

More clarity is needed in the description.

The language about "presets" requiring the full motel model is at best ambiguous, making the name of the product even more sketchy in intent.

I don't blame the OP one bit for being upset, deservedly so.

    From the description:

    Details

Shhh. The walls are thin in these rooms. You never know who is listening. What exactly are you doing here? Nobody pays for a night in this place unless they are up to something illegal, immoral or embarrassing. So what will it be? Pick your poison. We won’t say a word.

Included Motel Room presets requires Motel

     Pretty straightforward, imo.

You enlarging the text doesn't make it more straightforward. lol

What makes something straightforward-  is to actually use the Daz Store mechanism to list required items.

    Like so,

Secondly, it says "Included Room Presets". Who knows what that is? I didn't and I loaded each one to see what it did.

One loaded the furniture at zero and the other loaded to one of the (soon to be purchased separately) motel rooms.

I've never seen another product that had furniture arrangement as a preset.

Usually you get a preload or a scene preset.

That would make sense in a bundle, to include a way to incorporate the FULL ROOM into the motel building.

That would be the logical assumption. -> A preset that puts the furniture AND room inside the MOTEL

With all due respect, it's an oversight to sell a product called a ROOM in any capacity and not include walls, ceilings and floors AND the only way to get the enclosure for your "room" is to load an entire Motel environment.

I dunno, find another product called a room that doesn't have the room part. lol

    ------------------

All that said, I find it pretty light on resources and the rest - is what it is.

Agree with all who think this is a crap name and description. A room is NOT furniture and the required product area should indicate that the motel itself is required.

room (noun) a part or division of a building enclosed by walls, floor, and ceiling.

How hard would it have been to call it "Motel Furniture"? I guess those 5 extra letters was just too much effort.
