Using Daz Studio 4.6 for Genesis items.

Using  Daz Studio 3 Standard version for pre-Genesis content.

With version 3, I can go into the Scene tab and select one joint in the first finger, hold down the Shift key, and select the last joint in the last finger.  Then in the Parameter tab, I can Bend all 12 joints of all 4 fingers at the same time to quickly make a fist or grasp an object without 12 separate selections and bends.  Same with the Morphing Python and Eastern Dragon -  smooth bends, twists, and posing with multiple selection.  I haven't been able to do that with version 4.

I use the Grasp morph in the M4/V4 Morphs++. You can select all joints as described, then 0 them. Select only the hand and use the grasp morph. The advantage of the grasp morph is that the fingers and the thumb are separate. You can also tweak each finger's grasp.

daz squirrel grasp control doesn't work in carrara.  poor Nutly can't grasp his nuts

That is how I do it as well , if I need just one finger say like the index finger I could twaek the grasp  and change it from fist into m4 pointing his finger that way :)

Sorry, I missed the original quoted post earlier. You can do this in DS4 too, but you need to make sure the settings in the Parameter pane's option menu are correct - they should be Consolidate Properties checked and Display Separate Items unchecked. That will give you a single slider for each property name that affects all selected bones. To get the option menu click the lined button in the pane's top corner, or right-click the pane's tab.

The hand grasp morphs improvements in genesis 2  was the first thing i noticed when i moved over from generation 4 to Genesis 2 . I really like the different morphs styles for the hands  and with the use of the genesis aniblock off set  to fix the genesis feet issue and slosh's handy dandy tool for fixing  hand & feet morphs so when using gen4 pose sets to create your animation with genesis  the  "handy dandy tool" has made it much easier to animate g2. using older gen4 poses.    I can't speak about genesis 3  Because I have not done any work with it. But then again I have no interest in Investing in it.   I'm just kind of biding my times until Daz connect goes full swing.

    I am on 4.7, 64& 32 bit for lipsinc
and will remain for the foreseeable future.
Using the GENX, graphmate/aniMate2 &Decimator plugins

I have the 4.8 beta but No qualifiying NVIDIA Card
(moot!, I am an animator who is rendering thousands of frames per week currently)

we have no interest in 4.9-pass!

Only use DS to retarget& previs Iclone Pro Charcter motion DATA
to Genesis 2 figures before sending them via  .obj/MDD to maxon C4D for rendering
or to send DAZ scenes to Blender cycles for PBR still using the free teleblend plugin.

4.7.0.12_64 with no interest in 4.8.  The Iray stuff scares me.  Why oh why did I ever abandon crayons?

4.8 willing to update into 4.9 once it gets kinked-out.

4.8 (and 4.9) still use 3Delight as well as Iray, with new versions that are faster than the one in 4.7.

  • Daz version 4.9 Beta for my ladies.

Unchecking "Display Separate Items" has made posing a lot easier.  Huge time saver.  Many thanks.

  • Still using Daz 3.1 Advance, i have the 4.7 but just can't get any thing to load into it, so don't bother, and in that way also saves me buying new stuff, again!
