Layered Shaders in DAZ 4.8 (do these work?)
in The Commons
What is the trick to getting Layered shaders to work in DAZ?
Poser does this just fine, and I have UberSurface2, but it is not doing what I expect.
I want 2 surfaces with all the same parameters, and I want to be able to apply a mask on the top layer so that it is only displayed over the bottom layer based on the mask.
I also want opacity control on both layers. Is this not possible?
It looks like the only option I have is to use photoshop to blend my two layers and apply it as a single layer in DAZ.
Nothing I've experienced, playing with layered shaders, in DAZ, gives me any indication layered textures with two diffuse layers works.

The Layered Image Editor ( called LIE ) does this.
Click on the map thats on the surface you want to change and in the drop down menu select Layered Image Editor.
The LIE does it, but it's doesn't really make a dual layered surface.
There's a Shader Mixer based, so it works in 3DL, set by 3DCheapskate in addition to the US2 set. 3DCheapskate's probably closer to the Poser type of layered surface.

Cool!
Both of these are useful solutions!
Thanks guys!
