All product info missing after upgrade to 4.9 beta

I have 4.8 and 4.9 beta installed. In 4.9 beta, when I select the Smart Content pane then the Products option I see the usual product icons. None have any names, though; i.e. there's no text under ther icon.

Related problem: When I select the Content Library pane and then expand the Products option there should be 26 subitems listed ("A".."Z"). There are only two: "?" (which has a bunch of very small icons with no text) and "L" (which has only one subitem "LOCAL_USER").

Neither of these problems are present when I open 4.8. All products are listed just fine.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. (I've already uninstalled and reinstalled both versions of the app.)

    This is a very interesting problem, and one that we have not seen in any internal testing. Is smart content working fine for you in 4.8?

     

    Could you please contact support tomorrow, tell them that I sent you and try to include anything that seems somewhat important.

    Yes, Smart Content is working fine. (I see all my content.)

    I'll submit a bug report now. (It's daytime here in Oz.)

    Did you happen to "Re-Import Metadata?" If you did, did you happen to include more than just "User Data?" If you did, that is likely the problem. The opening post of the "Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.0.21" announcement thread is explicit about not doing that in the current build.

    Importing non-User Data from DSX files does NOT function correctly in the 4.9.0.21 build and is, therefore, NOT recommended—this is fixed in a subsequent build.

    • A workaround is to reimport metadata within Daz Studio 4.8 or Daz Install Manager.
    • Importing User Data that has been previously exported to DSX file(s) DOES function correctly in 4.9.0.21.

    What causes me to think that this is the problem? The fact that all of the product names are "?" instead of their actual names. This is indicative of having used "Re-Import Metadata" for anything other than "User Data" in the 4.9.0.21 build.  This is fixed in the next build.

    Thanks for that. I did indeed reimport my metadata recently. I'll wait for the next beta and reimport it again.

    I'll update my bug report to Daz too.
