Can i save .pp2/cr2 as .duf...and how?

So I'm bored. And when I get bored I do things like organize my runtime, or I split apart big Stonemason sets into smaller sets and save them.

But I'm not sure what I should be saving them AS. For instance, I want to go into my props folder for all those poser prop sets, and save them into my DAZStudio Props folder...(so i don't have to keep switching between the two)

But do I save them as "scene" or "scene subset"?

For instance, Dies Nefastus: http://www.daz3d.com/dies-nefastus

I'ts a cr2 prop so if I want to save it back to my DS folder Prop, would it be save as -> scene, or save as -> scene subset, or would it be save as -> support asset -> scene assets/prop assets?

With something like that I'd save it as a scene subset, either with both CR2 in the scene at once or individually, with figures like V4 I'd also save them as a subset, but make sure you inject all of her morphs (++, A4,G4,Elite etc) before you do.

Conforming clothing and figure hair I'd "fit to" the figure first and then save the clothing/hair as a wearable preset, this will just save the selected conforming item.

Props, Smart Props and Prop Hair (HR2) I'd use "Save As > Support Asset > Figure/Prop Assets", Smart Props and Prop Hair you will need to make sure it's parented to the figure and bone it was designed to attach to, that way you will get the smart parent option in the asset save window.

Some will tell you to convert it to WM, bad idea, DS4 doesn't like Poser figures, it has to convert them into a poor mans version of Genesis just to be able to use them, with poor quality General WM and hidden helpers to make it look like it's using poser rigging, conversion just gets rid of the helpers leaving you with a figure that needs rerigged to bend well.

so what is the difference between a 'scene' and a 'scene subset'?

    and what is "WM"??

edit: i rarely use V4 etc anymore so i'm not too concerned where she is. I was more wanting to do this with props, as in scenery and environment props, cos I'm too lazy to go over to the poser folders and find them all the time LOL

Scene saves everything in the scene, a subset only saves what you select from the scene, it can also be loaded staright into an existing scene with a double click rather than the right click/merge you need to do for a scene.

WM is short for Weight Map
