Best IRAY Shader for Gen2 Models (Belle,Aiko)?

Hello everyone,

I really enjoy using Iray, but I am not ery good in configuring shaders or adjusting settings in the materials tab without screwing the whole render up. What I would really like would be skin shaders that have the same look and feel as the Gen3 models. Does anybody have good recommendations?

Oops, sorry - my suggestion wasn't good.

Similar to what I originally wrote: load Gensis 3 female with the materials you like, then use the Surrace Selection Tool from the Tools menu to click on an area of skin. Now go to File>save as>Shader Preset and call it something like "Basic Iray Skin from Gen3". In the options dialogue click the lined button at top-right and from the menu that opens click Check Only>Check All Values Only, then click Accept. Now load your G2F, apply the textures you want, and open the Surfaces pane - under Genesis 2 female click on Skin, then double-click the preset you saved. The preset should update values while leaving the maps set to the ones for your character, you can also do the same for the nails and for the eyes/mouth parts. If that render nicely you can then save a new Materials Preset to preserve your whole material set up.

I find that EvCh0's shaders do a fairly nice job overall: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_22486. ; They are partitioned out by surface regions so you can do things like apply just the lips and eyes if you want.

I still think the Genesis 2 Optimized Iray shader does a pretyy good job. Especially if you ctrl - click to keep the original shaders. You're almost always want to apply specific iray shaders to hair and eyes.

Yeah, I still sometimes tweak, particularly to capture sweaty or shiny skin, but I've found the default works just fine most of the time. The most common changes I've had to make are reducing translucency a little and fiddling with the irises -- some conversions leave then strangely shiny white.

There is a lot of flexibility and options in my go to product for gen 2 iRay skins http://www.daz3d.com/beautiful-skin-genesis-2-iray-bundle
