It depends on the glass. Refractive Index can range from 1.45 to 1.9.

ah okay, that helps and what is the color for?

    What colour?

  • Refraction is a surface property, the size of the object does not matter (unless there are lots of bubbles inside it, each with their own surface contribution). If your glass looks unrealistic it may be a lack of absorbption - glass is not fully transparent, the amount of light transmitted should decline as the size increases.

3dl or Iray? 3dl you need to include a full 360 degree environment or you get odd behavior when you try and render glass.

    First message says 3delight ...

That said - glass and liquids need a "skydome" 360° environment to render fine - which is why Fisty included one in her free Liquids set: http://www.sharecg.com/v/82337/

you got refraction color, refrection strength and index of refrection

Refraction colour is the colour you want refracted through the substance, normally set to white. For a prism all colours would be refracted and a rainbow would be seen as the transmitted colour. For water you might want blue to make the sea tropical :)
