Medieval Cloaks Question

I'm using the above linked image and I'm trying to do a pose where the character points their arm to the side. This cloak doesn't seem to work with that, I can't have it thrown back so that it's hanging more from the back--the arm clips through.

Am I missing something or is this garment too limited for my use?

sometimes i increase the smoothing iterations to 100 or 150, seems to solve some clothes posing woes.

there was a setting for collisions iterations, can't remember off the top of my head, but increasing it also helped.
