Inverse Kinematics. "It allows elements of an object to be linked, such as the parts of an arm or leg, and causes them to move in a prescribed, realistic manner"

Sooo ... Can I remove the other one? I don't like duplicate things because I later forget which one to use and would just rather use the version with the best options or most 'features'. Plus I try to save ever tiny bit of space I can.

  • Inverse Kinematics (loosly translated from geek is "reverse motion").  It is what permits you to push up on the foot, causing the knee & hip to bend accordingly.  It also made it easy to grab a figure by the hip and with "collision detection" turned on you could stand a figure on the "floor" and push down a little bit and the hips, knees, and ankles would bend sort of naturally.  It's a lot easier than manually adjusting the bend of the hip, knee, and ankle.

The term "IK" was an important technology in some models in "Poser".  I'm not sure how DAZ handles or names the same functionality as "IK" in DAZ Studio, but something like it is implemented in Studio.  Studio has several built-in technologies to help with posing.

That doesn't answer my question though as to which one, if either, I can delete, lol. Which one is better to keep? I am assuming the ik one since it does 'more' even if I don't know how to do that 'more' yet. I may learn, lol.
