How do I reduce the number of emails I receive from Daz 3D?
It's not you, it's me. I'm so sorry.
I get at least an email a day from you lovely people, sometimes as many as three a day. That's too many. I know you love me and care about me but that's a bit much. I've got close family members who get in touch less frequently. Heck I talk to my own sister perhaps twice a week. I don't want her getting jealous.
So I'm not sure if this is a feature request or a call for help. Is there a way to cut down on the number of emails we receive from you? A button I can press perhaps? I don't want none at all, because I like receiving them, but I would like.... just a few less. Perhaps one or two a week maybe? I do still care, but waking up to an email every single morning is starting me make me care just a little less each day.
I'm sure we can work something out. Perhaps meet over coffee sometime?
I do still love you.

it's all or nothing.
This gets brought up every so often. They really need to do a preference center (it's an industry best practice) so users can pick the frequency of messages. Or to pick the types of messages they receive.
Which industry? I only get one a day here except for plat days and most days one from Runtime. Which is about on par with most of the non political mailings I get. I got 3 yesterday from rendo so they are a bit ahead of the curve as far as mail outs go..
Having a preferences centre for managing email communications is definitely a best practise, and I'm pretty sure that having an opt-out mechanism is a legal requirement (certainly in the EU).
I would think it's currently "all or nothing", as larsmidnatt said. I'm pretty sure I've seen an option somewhere to not recieve e-mails, but then you won't get any at all.
Personally I'm still waiting for my first today, hopefully bringing me great news of the october PC sale everyone is talking about ;)
There's an "Unsubscribe" link at the end of each e-mail, so that requirement is met.
Your best bet is to create a filter and have any Daz emails go to a specific place to read (or not) at your leisure. :) That's how I have mine set up. Almost any email provider or application will allow quick and easy set ups. :)
eCommerce/Email marketing, which is what keeps the virtual doors open at this store. Even 1 email a day is too many for a lot of people.
This is why having a preference center to give people the option to control how many emails they get is an industry best practice, and some companies allow filtering by theme/subject.
I unsubscribed years ago. I have learned to live with missing out on the occasional discount code, thankfully now they put those in our store inbox sometimes.

Ah.. Well I knew it wasn't this industry as such since I get so many from other brokerages as well. Actually I get one a day from loads of different stores. And I must just be unlucky about everyone else else as well. Everyone from Tigerdirect to tv guide sends out something every single day.
Not all places follow the best practices. It doesn't matter what you sell, having a preference center is a best pratice for anyone who does Email marketing. But if you are getting too many emails you should see if you can change your mailing options with those sites. You might be surprised at how many will let you choose to a degree.
And Daz is itsy bitsy spider small so that could be part of it.Somehow they have the resources to crank out emails like no one's business so having a dedicated manager for the program only seems logical. But they may be like some companies where "half" a person handles email marketing..and that would explain it. If you don't have a specialist managing the program then it's possible they aren't aware of all the positives of having such a center.
I get a lot more from Rendo and RDNA, I only get one per day from DAZ and once a week the extra plat club newsletter. I get at least three a day from the other two big stores, sometimes a lot more if things on my wishlist goes on sale or if my favorited venders release products. I actually look forward to the daily Daz email.
Now don't ever buy anything from LOLshirts, they will spam you out of web and sever.
I really need to go through and opt out of a bunch of stuff... I don't sew enough anymore to merrit 1-2 emails a day from FrabricStore.com, don't have the money to buy frivilous tshirts, Tanga is a mess - have returned more that I've kept with them, can't afford to upgrade my computer right now so I don't need Tiger Direct spamming me. Not mixing e-juice in bulk anymore so I don't need midwest supplies (and I have more 3 gallon carboys than I'll ever need).. umm.. Simply Whispers and Fire Mountain Beeds and Gems send me a lot of messages but I use those as inspiration (and still do some beading), likewise I haven't bought anything from Light in the Box since my wedding dress two years ago but it's fantastic inspiration.
Tactical commando stirkes usually work.
tactical email programs make more money than blitzing all the time. regardless of how many companies do it wrong, its still wrong.
