I thought the pc+ sale was supposed to start. It's oct 1st and nada. Does this start some other time in oct then?

  • Since absolutaly nothing has gone up today yet I suspect it's in the works.  It may be they decided not to start it by remote control,  and given how many glitches we've run across when they do that for major sales it probably isn't a bad idea.  Check back about 10 am DAZ time.

  • Last year the PA sale overran - even if that isn't happening this year there's still the catch-up wanting at least two days, I would think, which is yesterday and today (and perhaps tomorrow if they have the same three day window as the main Featured/Still featured run).

If it's not up later today, I expect it will be tomorrow, as the last of the Full Throttle stuff will have rotated off of "Still Featured" at that point. Give the last few PA products that third day so they don't get shafted by a calendar. Besides, IIRC the office is mostly shut down on Caturday and Sundog-- I'm having a hard time with the idea that they're going to do a major sale launch during the weekend.

So then either Friday or Monday, with Friday being the odds-on favorite-- most of a week without new releases/incentives to come visit would not be kind to their current business model. As it is, I expect that there will be some sort of release today, most likely one that's going to get aq lot of attention and/or come with the expectation of a significant amount of support in place. Best to check back in four to six hours.

One more day won't hurt anyone, and we should have a bunch of new stuff to launch our weekend.

Mind you, that's all specualtion based on my not-considerable training in economics, with input from a spouse that's an actual economist. I get the basics, she fills in the details. Usually works pretty well. That said, I've been wrong before.

A get the hint here I think. That would be awesome. yes

True, true. Don't bother me one bit. The longer Daz waits, the more money I save. After the pa festival sale, I love the idea of not spending. smiley

One can always dream... They made that mistake once already this year, so I doubt they'll do it again.

It's a bit early for DAZ to be at work right now, it might start later today.

Yep. At this point, the ones that like to run in the morning are just now getting out of bed.

Sometimes it takes em a bit of time to get fired up. Most companies don't run two month long sales back to back.

  • It's on it's way.  But regardless of when it starts, it will run for a whole 'month'..

It seems to me that (if I remember correctly this early in the day)  that sometimes the PC sale will often start on either Monday or Friday rather than on the first of the month.  But I can be misremembering.

Well, they might want to take into consideration MILLIONS of people may be without power with a Category 3 or Category 4 hurricane swooping in on the entire East Coast. Launching a sale is fine, but if 1/4 of the U.S. customers (this won't be a coast thing, 18-24 inches of rain is going to be well inland, and that is not associated with the hurricane's direct impact)  miss out on a "one day, two day , three day" setup, they need to have a backup plan for those folks.

Yeah, like where I am in North Carolina.  Feel bad for anyone and everyone who gets hit.

I'm there, too; right on the Outer Banks. And it looks like it could be a really bad one for us.

I hate to miss the sale; but right now it is the least of my worries

    Greetings,

The sale will run a whole month; IIRC the PC sale starts off relatively slow, and adds features as time goes on anyway.

If you're in the path of danger, take care of yourself.  The sale will still be here when you get back؟ wink

Oh, gosh, Charlie Judge, definitely the danger zone.  Are you staying?  Take care either way.  Check in when you can.

I've been here over 40 years and I always stayed; survived Isabelle and Irene and several others. Besides with two dogs and a cat to care for, it would be really hard to leave.

I spent most of today getting supplies and now, thankfully, it looks like the projected track may a little farther east than the one I saw earlier. But, of course that could change again. The earlier projection where it came just about up Pamlico sound is the worse case scenario for us. The beachs are in the NE quadrant where they get really pounded with East winds plus the sound water gets all piled up to the North and then as the hurricane passes and the winds shift to the NW it gets slammed back down causing major soundside flooding.

Hope all of you East Coasters come through unscathed and without any loss of power.

Well, lets see if they start this sale on a friday, that's always entertaining. And sometimes, when the disaster of the first three sale days has blown over and DAZ gets to fixing things, there'll be nicer deals for the customers.

Oh and of course best of luck to everyone who lives in the route of that actual disaster heading for the east coast. Be safe!

If it's going to launch Friday, we'll know in the next hour and a half to two.

Pensacola got slammed with TWO Category 3 (only a few mph away from Cat 4) hurricanes only nine months apart- then nothing since 2005. That's ten years! We're in a good streak- and hopefully this hurricane will continue to curve more East. But most of the flooding is from that Low, so you're going to get flooding regardless. Pensacola got 14" day before yesterday, and we handled it quite well (not related to this setup.)  By the afternoon, back to normal with only a few exceptions. We'll be thinking of you Carolina folks tomorrow and through the weekend.

My suspicion - the catchup sale will run through the weekend and the PC+ sale will start Monday with the release of M7/G3M.

ETA - looks like I'm at least partially correct - more new PA items tonight. BTW - anyone besides me notice that the vast majority of the G2F items that have been offered this month are DAZ buy-outs?
