What the heck is going on here?

OK, someone at DAZ needs to explain today's new sale item announcement -- instead of a link to www.daz3d.com/newsletter/... it has a link to apps.bronto.com. WTH?

Comments
I just checked my email and all of the links were to email.daz3d.com that I could find. I will however tell you that Bronto is a company we have partnered with to send out our newsletters / sales announcements so I don't think there is any foul play going on here.
I'm guessing the reason I don't see the link to apps.bronto.com is because my test email account is probably in a different customer group (platinum club, not platinum club, hasn't purchased recently, whatever other crazy categories marketing has setup) so it got a slightly different email than you did.
I just opened my email of the newsletter and the main image doesn't actually link to anything on mine. If I go to the web version link, and then press the main, it goes to the PA festival page.
Interesting... I wonder how many different customer groups there are. I'd always assumed it was just Platinum or non-Platinum, but it seems Daz has a more in-depth grasp on their marketing than I presumed. FYI, I see Daz Studio's adverts all over the place so I think Google ads has my interests pegged down to the wire. A couple of times it even lead me to purchases I was unaware of.
If emails are tailored to specific customers, it could explain why some people might have an erroneous weblink while others don't.
Customer groups. It's a common practice. That's why some people get discount codes and others don't. But it's not on a person to person basis. People meet certain criteria and are added to groups by software rules defined by the marketing team.
Ditto! My email shows the main graphic as a link pic (Cursor shows as a 'hand' which normally depicts it's hovering over a link) but no link is displayed.
The other graphics do however show (and accesses) the links to their respective 'pages' on the site.

And here's what I get at the other end of the link
Except, those are wasted ads...you know about and use DAZ, so you getting exposure to the ads does nothing. (I was thinking about this the other day when a page I was on had 5 ad slots, and they were all Daz).
Greetings,
Yeah, it's called remarketing, and it's brilliant when used right. When used wrong, it's awful.
Essentially companies should use the detailed rules that are available to segment their customers, so as someone who's bought from DAZ in the last day, you should be on a list that doesn't get DAZ ads until tomorrow (or, during normal business months, whenever a crop of new content is out). It's a PITA to set up, IIRC, but it makes a MUCH better experience.
It's also really, really frustrating when you get stuck in a niche. For example, visiting a few depression-related sites can end you up in a valuable niche of people certain pharma companies can advertise towards. Because the pharma companies pay a lot per user, they win most spot-auctions, and suddenly you're barraged by sad-sepia-woman-looking-out-a-window ads for *!#$!#@ ever. :(
...I'm not bitter...
But seriously, remarketing when used right can be an amazing boon to a company.

Aha! Interesting. Though I never bother to read the email announcements in text mode. Normally too busy, though I did notice straightway that the main graphic didnt get me anywhere. I normally read my emails (on the desktop) in outlook, then click through to fire up FireFox if I see something interesting in the email
