There's been a Zbrush demo available for a little while now. Should be a 45-day demo and you will probably need every one of those 45 days to figure out where things are in that interface it's got.   ;)

Yes it sure has "a lot to learn" in it lol ... I know I won't get far but it's nice to see what it is.

Loaded some "fibermesh hair" ... funsville ... have to go find some tuts now ... how to export stuff lol ...

Should keep me busy for awhile ;-)

Love ZBrush.  Good luck with the eyebrows Tim.

Quick tutorial... mask out the area you want to grow hair, the new hair will be made on a new layer when you OK the way you have things flowing.  Don't submit the changes till your really ready to.  The hairbrushes are VERY VERY sinsitive so make sure you turn down their strength quite a bit in the beginning when using them!

    Good to know thanks! :)

I had to buy it a couple years ago only to find out I didn't like it at all and had to do the whole refund thing. :/

  • I think it's had a demo for at least two years or more now.  Definitely go look at the ZClassroom tutorials.

Uh, when I asked them about it back then they told me no and that I had to buy to try and not to worry that I could get a refund no problem. And that's what we did - they were nice and fast :)

Not sure about that Cris.  IIRC there was a person interested a little while back that wanted a demo and there was none so this may be new(ish)

  • No definitely not, I had a windfall that fortunately from YouTube ADsense I had already allocated to it or other software or I would have been very upset, as hardly used it as I find it infuriating never seem to be in the right mode editing my tool or accidentally do something ctrl z will not undo, I honestly find Blender more intuitive, all I have used it for is to fix stuff up I have made in Carrara but Meshlab does that too.

  • I have to admit when I first used I kept giving up and then going back to it late. Its alot different then anything else that I have ever worked with. In the long run though I started to pick things up once I got the basics everything I use in it (sofar) has gotten more and more simple for me. There are new functions all the time added and I hav'nt messed much with those but I dont regret purchacing it at all now. It just takes time to learn but makes alot easier for me. Everytime I use it a learn something new about it....and yes I did have the trial first through a magazine though.

  • Weird...I know a friend who downloaded in 2012 and in 2014, but it looks like they didn't in 2013...heh.  Well, at least for sure you can download one now.  :)
