Is this stuff possible with Daz figures?

    G3F has a similar rig already, although it's not quite that easy to manipulate in Studio.

    That said, mesh is mesh, and no modeler I know  of cares where you got the mesh your'e working with. If you transfer a DAZ figure to Maya or Max and get the plugin/proper shaders, then getting those results with their plugin would be as easy as you see in the videos.

    The bad part is the cost of Maya/Max...

    Oh, and the plugin actually being available. Because apparently it's not for the moment.

    With extra material work on the figures and more professional tools for the modeling and animations, I don't see why not.

    It is possible. However in both those examples you are looking at loads of assigned sculpted\map details at specific points. EG "Jcm" driven. None of what you see there is dynamic, and all details were assigned to specific values of rotation or bone positioning. In a nutshell, completely possible. Daz figures can do this already as demonstrated here.

    Ah ok. I imagine it just take a while then since I dont seem to see a lot of characters with such features.

    Currently only via sculpted morphs I think.

    In Maya there is some kind of a muscle system I think and then there are plugins to enhance it, like this one.

    I think the thing that impressed me of the links the OP posted is that the movements of the arm and face seem more fluid and natural, the video you linked the movements seemed to not be as natural.. But then again they are using a $4500+ program designed for this sort of thing..

    And I doubt you ever will see many for DS. Most users for DS and DAZ content are plug and play hobbyists that want everything done for them with most having no clue or desire on how to morph anything beyond a dial or how to even set up a surface material for rendering, hence the many posts about wanting specific 3Delight or Iray shaders instead of just setting it up themselves.

    What the first 2 videos show are the capabilities of certain CG software and what "users" can do with it. If anything, the first 2 videos show software and their capabilities that vendors might use to create products that do similar things such as what Zevo mentioned or Smay showed so the plug and play market here can get similar results without having to do the actual work.
