How to fix Distorted of V4MuscleMaps on GF2?
I need to put "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps" on "Genesis 2 Female" so I used
"Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female"
and
"V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female"
I changed the "UV Set" to put the "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps" on "Genesis 2 Female" succeed finally
but
As you can see the screenshots for compare below, the Maps has a little bit distorted on the legs of G2F, so I'm looking for any idea to fix this problem, please show me your idea as details and step by step here!
I'm working on DAZ Studio 4.8 pro (64-bit) under OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Thanks,
Cao

The differences in shape and polygon dsitribution do mean that highly detailed maps, such as these, will show distortion.
For the muscle maps it probably makes sense to just use V4 for that project.
For a normal human skin, those types of differences aren't usually a deal breaker. If you are going for science, then stick with V4.
So.. are you meaning that it's impossible to fix this problem on G2F right?
Not impossible but more of a question of is it worth it
Not really, no. The particular distortion in the pictures is a flaw in the V4 UV map for G2F.
It is worth for me, I really want to fix it, no matter how hard it is, I have to get over it! Please show me how to fix as details and step by step. I will grateful for your help!
Is there any particular reason it MUST be on G2F?
Have you tried it on the original Genesis? Or why not V4, herself?
the Reason is that I need V4MuscleMaps on G2F without the flaw, because English is not my Parent Language it's hard to tell.. but trust me I really need to fix it.. I've tried my best to asking you..
I've tried to put V4MuscleMaps on Genesis but it's the same with G2F.
Would you show me the idea to fix the flaw in details and step by step here please?
I really grateful for people who helps me!!
Please..
I have not tried this one yet but possibly you could take the images into an image editor along with the uv templates from G2F WITH V4's uvmap and re-arrange the image to better match what you want.

I thought The distorted V4 UV seen in Genesis 1 was fixed in Genesis 2... That's REALLY disappointing. I'm betting this issue won't be fixed should a V4 UV come out for Genesis 3, either. Very, very, very disappointing.

Pretty sure it will look far worse on Genesis 1. Chances are that the TC doesn't own V4, that is my guess, anyhow.
Edit: Do you have the V4 shape for G2F? If so, maybe see if that makes any difference. I doubt it will, but it's worth a try.
I'm pretty sure there will never be a V4 UV for G3F...
I'm wondering if going the map transfer utility route would be any better?
You cannot use map transfer without the UV data listed on the figure. There would have to be a V4 UV for G3 listed in order for any form translation to begin. Also, it's unlikely a V4 UV will ever be made for G3, however I have seen some suprise products eventually show up that give us the abilty to do some of these wishlisted tasks. Who knows what developers have under their sleeves.
The Genesis base uses the V4 UV map by default. Try applying the V4 muscle maps to the base Genesis female shape. I don't know if the lower poly figure will make a diffeence. I don't have access to any of those runtimes at present so I cannot check. If the OP has the V4 shape for Genesis, that may fix any stretching or texture distortion if it occurs with the base Genesis female. I'm not sure why the OP has to use G2F but IIRC, there are uv's and shapes for Gen 4 to Genesis2Female.
Zev, the OP wants the muscle maps on G2F...map transfer could be a possiblity...using Genesis and going from V4 to V5 (but since I don't have the muscle maps, I can't try it).
Or the baking technique for getting Genesis 2 and earlier skins onto G3F is also another possiblity.
icprncss, someone upthread mentioned that they are distorted on Genesis1, too.
I understand that you have mean Photoshop but how to fix that as details and step by step? Sorry for many troubles.. my technique is poor..
Yes, I do have the V4 shape for G2F.. Genesis is the same distorted too. Thanks for trying!
As this issue, the only solution might be Developers release update version of the Muscle Maps..
Genesis female with V4 shaped is the same distorted too. Thanks for trying!
Thank you mjc1016, it sounds like I need to have a trying for MapTransfer utility, but for now my technique is poor so that I was confused with your step.. would you provide the technique more details as step by step? Really sorry for my poor English and Technique here..
The only other product that might help is this:
http://www.daz3d.com/corrected-v4-uv-for-genesis
Problem is, I don't know if it corrects more than the face. Since it's not on sale and the current sale has a no return policy, I'd submit a ticket to Zen Desk asking if the product corrects the body UV. Either that or wait until the PA sale is over and DAZ is back to it's usual return policy. That way if the product doesn't do what you need it to do, you can return in.
From taking a closer look at the attachments above, this is a rigging issue. Look at the front and back of the knees. V4 and Genesis/G2 use two very different rigging systems. It doesn't make that much difference in less detailed textures such as a skin texture but it becomes very apparent when you try to use highly detailed maps like the muscle maps. Do you have a 3d texturing app?
If it's not on sale then the return policy is normal - it's only items in the PA sale that are subject to the no return rule, since for miost users the number of items bought affects the discount.
Do not use this: "V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female" ... you do not need to here.
The first product ["Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female"] gives G2F the V4 uvmap option.
You may have to "manually load" the V4 textures to G2F the first time, then save a new preset to load it the next time.
.................
Some other items that may be of interest for muscles would be to give G2F some ...
http://www.daz3d.com/muscularity-morphs-for-genesis-2-bundle [has for both F and M]
http://www.daz3d.com/muscularity-morphs-for-genesis-2-female-s [just for F]
SimonWM's promos are using the V4/M4 muscle maps on the G2 figures.
Thank you mjc1016, it sounds like I need to have a trying for MapTransfer utility, but for now my technique is poor so that I was confused with your step.. would you provide the technique more details as step by step? Really sorry for my poor English and Technique here..
Map Transfer is not perfect either. In particular, the nipple and nail areas can be a problem as if they were affected by a lens/zoom blur and wind blur respectively.
I don't know if it will produce better results if the V4 UV is already stretched on V4 for Genesis/G2F, anyway.
Problem is, I don't know if it corrects more than the face.
It doesn't. The PA had considered making a UV correction for the body at one point, but gave up, deciding that it would just be close to impossible. That's why, when using Genesis1, I prefer to either use a Gen5 texture. I also applied V4 maps to G2F then used map transfer to convert them to the V5 UV, but I can't remember if that looks any better on Genesis 1 or not. I mainly use the map transfer so that I can use a fantasy M4 or V4 skin with Bree's or Philip's SSS and translucency maps-- which does require fooling around with the SSS color map in GIMP (and a major pain in the ass if you're trying to get green skin on a red-blooded character)
I have asked them for "Corrected V4 UV for Genesis" but they told me that this product with NO help for corrects the body UV at all. Thanks for trying!
What is the "3d texturing app"?
I have tried to "load the V4 textures to G2F manually and save a new preset to load it the next time" but it's still distorted, no help at all..
I have already used the products you have mentioned in those screenshots but as you see it's still distorted, no help at all..
I have seen SimonWM's promos which is using the V4/M4 muscle maps on the G2 figures but the distorted is hidden by the angle. As my version it must be front and back angle so I have to trying my best to fix the distorted ..
Thanks for trying..
I have no idea to use Map Transfer for fix the distorted, I need the process as details and step by step.. sorry for my trouble..
Does Applied V4 maps to G2F then used Map Transfer to convert them to the V5 UV work for fix the distorted..? How do I do this idea in my issue to fix the distorted?
Thanks..
The only way to fix the problem is using a 3D program that can projection map from one mesh to another, as describe in the following thread.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59665/tutorial-converting-textures-from-gen2-to-gen3/p1
I thought that there is only two ways to finish this distorted, first way is the Publisher release a MuscleMaps for Genesis or Genesis2 another way is I need to trying to work it with V4 or work it with Genesis or Genesis2 and Past-Process.. Thanks for everybody again for trying!!
This is the thread to mention requests for a Product: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/product-suggestions
The only other option I can think of would be trying to use a 3D Paint program to actually "paint" the image where you want it. Unfortunately even if any of us could do this, we cannot share it. Some programs have a free trial period.
