What is a good site for free tutorials?  like for Mudbox, zbrush, Maya, or Shade?

    YouTube.

  • Yes, I've found a lot of useful help on YouTube. Some of them may link to a site with further information.

Sorry but how do I find particular tutorial topics in YouTube?  I have never searched for stuff in YouTube

Google a topic... Like "Making UV maps in Carrara" or go to YouTube and use their search engine... Click on the little magnifying glass icon at the top and that opens a typing field... Usually just typing in the software name is enough with YouTube, like typing "DAZ 3D Hexagon" or "Blender"... But adding other details helps too.

Word of warning if the video has a twenty minute flashy intro sequence, don't bother... And the same if the person who is narrating the tutorial has a picture in picture box so you can see them talk as they explain things (99% of the time they are wearing a headset like they are some demented air traffic controller) ...Usually those go hand in hand with the twenty minute intro sequence.

There are some good tutorials out there, there are a lot of bad ones though... Painfully bad.
