Can someone explain to me exactly what are Hierarchical poses?

edit: I have a feeling what I THINK they are, but want to be sure.

Poses that include poses for items parented to the figure, for example poses that move a cape or skirt along with the figure wearing them.

Hmmm. So in the case of this product here:

    http://www.daz3d.com/all-hands-poses-for-genesis-3-female-s

that says: 02 Mug Holding Hierarchical Poses R/L

does that mean when you load the pose, it automatically loads the coffee mug also?

I'm wondering about the versatility of them...like, does that mean the coffee mug (or other prop) has to be in teh exact file path the vendor has chosen?

No, you would load the mug and parent it to your figure, then use the pose => it poses both the mug and the hand.

  • You can do a wearable preset to load the cup and the hierarchal pose to pose it in the hand.  The wearable will add the cup which is why you don't want the hierarchal to do it since you might switch to a different hierarchal pose and you don't want a cup added each time.
