ISO: Classroom American Flag Prop

MJ007MJ007 Posts: 1,679

I am looking for a free-standing, hanging one, like one found in an American classroom FREE and very inexpensive.
Any ideas?

Like the one in this set: http://www.daz3d.com/oval-office, but i dont want to spend $20 bucks just for a flag.

Does DS2 have dynamic cloth?  http://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-american-flag-1

If you have Carrara, you can just apply an American (or any other) flag image to a plane and use softbody physics.

Here is a free youtube example of attaching an American flag to a pole and draping.

Final version is done and uploaded...

    Read the description/ReadMe

It's Unrestricted/Public Domain, so do with it what you will.

I changed the cloth type and made it a little higher poly, so now it hangs better (more cloth like) and not so stiff.

Those were the 3 I had...

I'd still be making presets if I did EVERY flag.  I should have put a West Virginia flag (yes, each State has a flag...) in there too, as I've got that one.

I also have this I'll get packaged up...and probably go ahead an pack both up as a 4.5+ 'native' set too., but not until this weekend.  It will take the same presets as the standing one.

It was nice to have an obj, so I could put it straight into Bryce.  and one to wave will be great as well, thanks.

I was Standard bearer for the ACW reenactment regiment we belonged to, (despite bieng female I went into battle as a soldier boy) and so yes I do know there are State flags, despite being British. The colour I made for our regiment was a Bonny blue flag , because of this song  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVeSKwM--1M

And I was taught to dance the flag in time to the tune as well.  I do have photos of it, but unfortunately none are digital, and my scanner is defunct.  I do have one digital one from one show we did, but I don't have the flag in that one.
