Morning. First flooding rain this year making mini lakes from  footpaths and basements and freeways still falling an hour or so after the sun rose and straightaway vanished into lead-grey overcast :)

I just read an article about how android phones record and store your voice commands over at Google... They archive all of them at your Google account apparently to improve the function of your voice commands... And apparently Apple does it too...   Thats is beyond creepy... Good detail if you write...  bad guys hack into someone's account to use the voice commands to construct a message using the persons voice confessing to a crime and framing them... Then again it might not be an original idea if some actual evil organization had actual done it already. It's a very short article... Here it is if anyone is interested: http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2015/10/29/451981811/ok-google-where-do-you-store-recordings-of-my-commands

I don't think they would get much from my conversations with Siri... It's just me telling Siri what she can do to herself, as I've never deliberately activated Siri and it usual just pisses me off when it comes on.

I get being desperate, but they know what they are doing and they coached on how to take advantage of the elderly and how extort money and instill fear and make threats... Worse yet, these are educated people using their technical skills for evil... Nevermind a B-ark, I'd like to have an F-ark... Fill it with scammers, virus and Trojan authors and all manner of evil hackers and cyber scum and send them off to go colonize the sun... Yeah, send us a text when you get there.... So long and thanks for all the grief.

I don't know...if you launched something large enough to hold all those people, it might have a bad effect on the Sun.  On the other hand, it would certainly have a nice effect on the laws of supply and demand.  I could enjoy $.75/gallon for premium gas again!  laugh

If they were recording mine back when I tried to use voice commands all they would get is me trying every possible inflection of the word "Call" trying to get the damned thing to understand me,  Kal, Kawl, Kol...

End of the first day of work - left at 5:30M, HOME t 8:15pm. indecision The commute is easy and pleasant, just... long.  Oh well, it's worth the money!  I'll just be reating art an music weekends only now.

Great company, great people, lots of dfferent things to do, I get along with everyone.  And FOOD!  Popeyes 1/2 a block away, next to a Starbucks, Taco Bell a block away, a block and a half to Italian, BBQ, and Chinese! laughGood thing I get to walk 3/4 of a mile to/from the bus sto or I'd get fatter.. lol.. cheeky

Legs hurt from yeterdays 4.5 miles total walking.  2 years ago I'd have hardly felt it, spending 14 months in a walker-hostie town has taken its toll. sadWill likey be 2 weeks before my legs and feet get used to it again, but then I should start losing weight!!!

Anyway, off to Facebook and then chat whilst I sip a good, Texas beer! Goodn9ght all!!

I don't have a smart phone so Google (et al.) doesn't get my voice, but several times my bank, I'm sure, has photos of me in their ATM camera expressing my single fingered dismay at its refusal to accept my password when I desperately needed cash on a Sunday afternoon.

Congratulations on your first day!  Wow, that is a worse commute than I had going into Greater Boston on my last job.  40 miles one way, just about all highway except for a mile and a little bit to the highway from my house and maybe another mile or so from the exit to where I worked.  Yet it was at least an hour, on a good day.  There weren't many good days.  indecision

In rush hour traffic?  I could make it to where I used to work in about 40 minutes when it's not rush hour.

It's slacked off here for the moment, but more is expected.  I35 is shut down in a couple of places down south, like Buda and Kyle.  The airport is shut down too. I think we'll be okay here.

lots of lightning and thunder but no rain here :)

...woke up to lots of rain and wind here this morning. Joints, muscles and bones aching something fierce even after a "Motrin dose" (double dose) of Advil™. Going to rain straight through Monday with winds kicking up again tomorrow.  So much for Halloween party plans.  Just going to stay home where it's warm & dry.

Fortunately I picked up a bottle of Canadian whiskey yesterday to ward off the effects of the weather.  Had a steaming bowl of New England Clam Chowder for lunch perfect on a chilly damp day. like today.

My doctor approved me to receive "Honoured Citizen" status on the buses and trams, so yesterday I went down to the Transit Authority's office to get my card.  Finally, half price for single fares and tickets as well as I can now get a monthly pass (good on the trams, streetcar and buses) for only 28$ (instead of 100$).  Now all those young healthy whippersnappers have to move out of the front seats for me.

Getting a seat on a bus slunds good, they are ripping them out here to make room for more ppl to stand up :)

...I'd expect to hear something like that being done here in the US.

So what about older folks there? I can't see them having to stand and "hang on for dear life" on a bus that is lurching about on rough city streets.

Heck surprised the domestic airlines haven't done that yet (though RyanAir contemplated installing ten rows of "standing berths" on their 737-800s and even removing the loos to cram in as many passengers as they could get away with).

Too many people living here now for the transport system to cope, there are new roads and tramtracks and railways being built everywhere you look and new trams and trains "launched" every second day.

    multipass :D

WE need flying taxis real bad :)

...the way cabbies drive around here, that's a big NOT.

Spent half the afternoon in the dark in the back of a van rocking around in howling wind and driving rain wondering where it all went wrong,  Then I recalled comfortable jobs I hated that really did feel wrong so I guess we all travel further and harder for the stuff we love....

...that way they can get more money out of you when you have to buy a replacement computer. This is why I build my own.

Ever wonder why cheaply built apartments are designed with with electric baseboard heaters right below windows that only have single thickness glass and flimsy metal frames?  Or why the glue on potato crisp bags is so strong as to make the bag burst apart or rip down the side if you pull too hard, causing the crisps to go all over the floor?  The worst are those  ATMs at mini marts , pubs, and foodie cart areas that charge you 3 - 4$ for a transaction, even if you just want to check your account balance.

It's all a big conspiracy to bilk us out of our hard earned Zlotys I tell ya..

...and don't get me started on the airlines, crikey, I'm surprised they don't charge you a fee to buckle your seatbelt or use the tray table.

...now where did I leave that roll of tinfoil?

Don't think I would have made it through university if housing was the price it is now, there was a story in the news last week that students are paying $400/month for a tent on an apartment balcony to sleep in, feels kinda wrong and only slightly more comfortable than sleeping in a swag under a bridge. Safer, at least :)

    Raindancing again?  :)

keep meaning to do a raindancer render.  will have time this month.
taking alotta days off in November and will prolly finish catching up on grimm this weekend.
working next week, then whole week off, working 2 days Thanksgiving week.

gonna be broke, but spending very little on content these days.  should be able to budget.  not adding stuff to my w/l cuz of the uncertainty of manual downloads. can't even ask about, they lock the thread, unless you're wilmap. favoritism.

almost Lauch time?  oops Lunch, not Launch.  oh noooo far out space nuts, or Nutley.  tee hee
