    Major complaint.

Microsoft critical update to my Win7-Pro clobbered my list of previous updates.  Now it won't do any updates 'cause it doesn't know what's needed and can't connect properly. angry  Probably gonna have to rebuild. sad

whoa rantworthy, perhaps MS will roll out a fix ?

Hottest October day evah here today, our tomatoes and strawberries are getting huge so yay :)

That's just the beginning... That's how the "giant  mutant whatever" movies always start...

Phase 1- Yay, the strawberries are huge!

Phase 2- Yay... The strawberries are really huge...!

Phase 3- Um... Those are some freakishly large strawberries... Are they supposed to have teeth?

Phase 4- Has anyone seen the cat lately?

Phase 5- The strawberries are eating the neighbors... Run!

Be vigilant and check your strawberries and tomatoes for limbs, tentacles, and/or teeth... Better safe than people salad, yeah?

    ...monster strawberries, ooohhhh, shiny!

    What a morning!

Out for a job interview at 10AM, got there, the headhunter took me up aannnddd.. the guy who was supposed to interview me was out until Tuesday and didn't notify anyone but his second in command.  Aaannnd, they had called an unexpected 10:30AM all-hands, so we only had half an hour! indecision

Turns out they were looking for an applications guy, which if they'd actually READ my resume', I am not.  Total waste of my time.

BUT.. I made it to the last interview stage with the Cary guys, so Tuesday morning we'll interview one more time and see where that goes.

Got a 2PM cal with a headhunter in Seattle.. it's a long shot, but if he can find me something up there, I'd move in a flash.

2PM call tomorrow with the Erie guys.. argh.. going to party at home and watch football all weekend.. indecision

...yeah, I have nothing on my resume that says I drive or have any special licences (I even noted so in my Monster and LinkedIn profiles) yet I keep getting all these Uber Taxi, forklift operator (one needs to be state certified in Oregon and have a valid DL), and truck driver referrals.

Seattle would be cool, only 4 hrs away by train. Give me a good reason to get out of town for a weekend. Lots of good beer there as well as good coffee and good food.

...according to one of the journals I read, MS is now trying to force the Win 10 upgrade disguised as a "critical" or "important" update on everyone who is still using 7, 8, & 8.1, including people who didn't even get it the first time around. They also made it darn near impossible to get rid of and according to what I read it keeps nagging you to update.

The nagging is real, but although Windows 10 apperas checked in Windows Update if you look it isn't installed automatically (at least not yet - and the update in Windows Update has been theer for a few days, and claims to have been issued 16/9).

ppl say Seattle is a lot like Melbourne, sprawling waterfront, freeways, cafes, music...

I've been there 4 times on business, I like the city a lot!  Lots of fun places and, of course, FRESH FISH!

Tao Hell, run from the border! devil Two beef crispy taco supremes, yum!  smiley

Bank run done, 1/2 paycheck into savings.. by the end of the month I should have enough stashed away to last until the end of November. smiley Made enough that I have enough leftover from bills to have one last wings-and-beer-fest on Sunday.. then it's just cheap vodka. indecision

Monday night is food shopping night, picking up everything I need to start microwaving and fixing all my food at home.  $10 a day for feed is too much, especially in low-burn-rate mode.

There;s the Food Truck Festival tomorrow, butI've decided to stay home and work on my next album, see if I can actually get it out the door before I run out of money!! surprisesurprise

I hope everyone is having a fine day! laugh

    And people complain about Microsoft!

  • An uncomplaint.  My computer appears to have fixed itself!   My list of updates is back, the Windows update manager connects properly, new updates have happened, system is working OK.

I've spent two days backing up files getting ready for a system repair or rebuild operation and now it doesn't seem to be necessary.  What's that expression about not looking gift horses in the mouth?
