Shade 3D - Has Anyone Tried It?

I just saw Shade 3D being advertised here, and I'd like to know if anybody's tried it. How does it work? How easy is it to get a handle on? How does it compare to other programs such as Blender or Hexagon? I'd like to know before I plunk down the cash just to try it out.

I was with it from versions 7 through 10, and its' a lot easier to deal with than Blender, and more stable than Hexagon. I haven't seen version 15, but I doubt strongly it's gotten any worse.

There is a free instruction manual in PDF format on the official site. Looks a bit complicated... In another thread, someone said it isn't designed to export creations to Daz Studio, however.

So, still searching for that elusive stable Hexagon replacement! TinkerCAD is refreshingly intuitive and user-friendly and I've been having masses of fun with that, but it's browser-based and, while allowing for creations to be 3D printed and sent to you, doesn't allow you to export something into Daz Studio, sadly enough.

I tired for a bit, seems solid. Made half an ugly animal with some quick box modelling. did not try to texture though. The Viewport seems a tad slower than I want. Hex is way faster and so is Silo, but I want to try some more. Just started today and only spent 20 minutes in it. There is a free demo on the offical site. If i buy it would be the basic version and I would opt to get it via the daz store since it's currently on sale.

It doesn't have a bridge and doesn't even have Daz scaling options in the import presets. So if you want to export from DS, I would use Poser scaling as Shade does have a preset for poser scaling.

Not the most intuitive GUI, but one always need to put an effort, to understand the program properly.

I have Shade standard 10.5, bought from Mirye.

Below is the iray render from DS 4.8 of imported example necklace from Shade.

I have changed materials to the iray ones.
