Help with Iray.

I was giving Iray a try since one of my friends was chatting it up to be a really good render system. (I believe he said you can work on your work as its rending?) Although I can't really get a firm grip on editing the scene in Daz and I was looking for some help.

I got this when I try rending with it (a simple example version)

I was wondering on how to brighten up the character's skin, hair, and eyes without over brightning everything else. Like: http://orig14.deviantart.net/be7d/f/2014/190/0/f/xaessya___final_version_by_xaessya-d7pp3ki.png

I been using Luxrender and I was able to edit the lights and whatnot in Luxrender to get that brighter effect and I was wonding on how I can do that with Iray?

  • Iray's lighting controls are mostly under Tone mapping in the render Settings pane, though surface settings obviously play a part and the Environment tab controls light sources.

Don't think you can change anything once it's started rendering, but what you can do is set up an auxillery view window and set it to Iray display.

That way you can make adjustments and get a reasonably good idea at how they will look in a full render.

As long as you don't make the auxillery window too big it doesn't affect workflow too badly.
