Which file should I keep?

I am running low on hard drive space and want to weed out all of those 'extra' files I just don't really need. I'm sure not one or two make a different, but of the thousands of content I have, every little file adds up.

I am noticing I have several figures that have both .cr2 and .mc6 versions. Which one, if it matters, should I keep for Daz-only use? Or doesn't it matter?

I also see I have several duplicate pose mats, many showing p4, p5, pp options and many show shader/no shader options, and others offer two or three poser options, with no clarification which, if any, work better in daz than another version.

I know the scroll clues me in as to which mats work better in daz. But many don't have that and I don't know which one to delete.

Any help will be appreciated :D

  • CR2 is the figure, mc6 is a Poser materials file. You probably want both unless there's a standalone DS file.

If you have multiple mat files, and no native DS, then PP is probably the best to keep - and No Shader if there isn't one. Those are the least likely to depend on Material Room stuff that DS won't read.

Unfortunately, you aren't going to gain a massive amount of ree space, unless you've got thousands of them...those MAT files are usually under 100KB, so it takes 10 or more of them to make 1 MB and I'm guessing your goal is to free up more than a gigabyte....

How do  I know if there's is a standalone DS file? Both show the scroll. The product I'm looking at right now is Cliffhanger. Do you have it?

And how do I know if there is a native DS mat?
