SOLVED How Do You Get the Search Function to Work in Studio 4.8?

I type the word CAT, and the search says NONE.  I know there's cats in there because the DAZ Install Manager says they're there.  I can't get the Search Function to work for any product - no matter what I type in.  It's probably something simple I'm not doing or don't know.

Thanks!

No, the Smart Content etc. isn't working either.

Is this recent?  What version of DS, and are you using PostgreSQL CMS or the older Valentina CMS?

I just started using this - DAZ Studio 4.8.  I'm afraid I don't know what PostgreSQL CMS or the older Valentina CMS are.

How did you install the content?

I used the Download Manager - or Install Manager.

    Did you install PostgreSQL CMS?

I checked the Install Manager - it says that PostgreSQL From Valentina CMS Conversion is installed.  I don't know what that is.

Does it also show PostgreSQL CMS installed?

No, it's not showing up.  The only thing installed that has PostgreSQL is the PostgreSQL From Valentina CMS Conversion.

Okay, install PostgreSQL CMS, then re-import metadata.

Okay, the PostgreSQL CMS is being installed.  The DAZ writeup on the install page says "To help get you up and running with the new PostgreSQL service, we’ve added a separate package in Install Manager that will automatically migrate any existing data from your Valentina CMS database; you simply install it after the PostgreSQL CMS is installed."  Does that mean I do or don't have to re-import metadata?

If this is a new install of 4.8, rather than an upgrade from an older version, there isn't a Valentina database, so you do need to re-import metadata.

Is it possible for me to somehow re-install the metadata without re-installing all the products?

When I searched now for CAT it brought up 274 items.  But there is nothing in Smart Content.

You don't need to reinstall the products, in DS click on the Content Library options menu (rectangle with horizontal lines in the upper corner) > Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata.

Okay, the metadata is re-importing - it may take 10 minutes or so.  Do I continue to download and install products the same way as I've been doing?  Or do I do it another way now?

The same way, now that PostgreSQL CMS has been installed the metadata will be imported automatically when you install with DIM.

Thank you so much for the help!  You've been great.
