Question re Selfie Stick & Smart Phone

Quick question: for those who have this, are the "starter hand poses" mentioned in the description for the selfie stick itself? Or are there hand poses for gen/gen2/gen3 for the phone on its own? Also, is the phone smart propped to the stick, or to genesis?

    Not used it yet, but taking a quick look; there appear to be poses for the stick and the figures. the phone and stick both need parenting and position, at least from what I just did; not time now to check more.

    Here's my experience with the product: The hand poses apply to the figure. The phone does not load in position nor does it load parented. This is a tiny bit irritating as it requires a lot of translation and rotation of the phone to get it in the hand before you can use it. Did I mention that I HATE mucking about trans-rotating props into a person's hand ... possibly the most frustrating posing action of them all - except perhaps for posing a thumb.

    Not sure if I am missing something, though, because the range of hand poses is really good and it seems a shame to spoil them by this limitation. I haven't tried the selfie stick; I was just interested in the phone.

    As for the phone itself, the thing that I REALLY like are the two cameras that offer a viewport from the front or back camera on the phone itself (and in the correct aspect ratio). Overall a very good product.

    Hi Acanthis,

    The included hand poses are all heirarchy poses, for some reason Studio sometimes loses the little overlay on the thumbnail indicating the type of preset.

    With heirarchy poses you don't need to position the prop, just parent it to either the left or right hand, use the appropriate pose and the prop will move into place.

     

     

    ...you're right though, I probably should have made a few presets that load it in place.... :(

    Thanks. That would actually have saved me a lot of time had I realised!

    Anyway, nice job on this product. It's a lot of fun.
