So I have been working at converting hairs from Generation3-4 to Genesis, and saving them as .duf ,in the Content folder ,so the question is do I have to save the hr2's,cr2's or pp2's in the runtime folder of the files I have converted??oh and I am using only DS ..........I kinda think I need to not touch the stuff in the geometry folder or the texture folder but ,the character folder,or prop folder or hair folder ........can those go .....

Anything in runtime/libraries can go, anything in runtime/geometry can go (ds saves its own geometry in content/data)  Runtime/textures needs to stay.

In the past I had content that came in both Poser format as well as the older DAZ Studio formats (.daz, .ds, etc.)  However, some of those old DS formats have become obsolete, and while many still work, at least one of them no longer worked correctly, and perhaps that number might go up in the future.  Luckily, I was still able to use the Poser formats so I could keep using them.  While ideally the new .duf format will stay around and remain compatible forever, you can't ensure that, and I would advise keeping the Poser content around somewhere just in case something like this should happen again in the future.

I maintain redundant backups of most poser content, if only because of the possibility of obselescence down the pike-- including older versions of Poser so it can again be reconstiututed if I need to.

Thank you sriesch, and DarkSpartan, yep I'll keep the original zips and suchof both Poser and DS contentstill have copies of all the original apps as well, but in my libraries opened up I'll only keep what I'm using now, which will hopefully keep the size of my libraries down abit ....or not.....

sriesch I've actually had the opposite problem where I couldn't get an older Poser format product to work right in DS and had to go to anolder version of DS to save it in and then bring it back into DS 4.5 and resave it in .duf  to have it work right again ,loops and circles!!
