How do I "conform to"

Hi there. I'm playing around with a tutorial. It states that I should "conform" a body part to my main figure. I should not use "auto-fit" because that would mess things up. Now how do I do this? I cannot find a command "conform to" in Studio 4.8. The only comands available are "Fit to..." (which I suppose would trigger Auto-Fit) and "Set Parent...". Any clue's. This is probably I complete Noob question, but I don't care.

Instead of 'conform to' read 'parent to". You'll have to move the body part where you want to have it. Positioning when the character is in Zero Pose will make it easier.
"Conform to" relates to automatically forcing clothing onto people. I believe it is an older technology used in earlier versions of DAZ Studio before "Fit to" was adopted. It may also be a Poser term but I haven't used Poser in 10 years.
"Parent to" is a different concept. One object "parented" to another will follow the position and orientation of the parent object regardless of where the objects are in the scene. A sword is usually parented to a hand. Some simple hair models are parented to a figure's head rather than trying to "fit" them especially if the hair was designed for a different figure. The disadvantage is that you have to first manually adjust the size and postition of the hair onto the head then parent it to the head.
Conform is the Poser command, Fit to is the DS command. Which tutorial is it?
This sounds a bit confused to me. The word "Conform" is used only by Poser, Daz Studio calls it "Fit To". It is the command to make a piece of clothing stay on a figure and match the figure's pose. In Poser it only works with clothes designed to fit the figure.
Autofit is only used by Daz Studio. It can be used on some clothes not designed to fit the figure and it will attempt to adjust to fitting so that it works. Autofit is usually activated automatically if it is needed when you use Fit To.
Parenting is simpler, it just makes an object move and rotate with the figure it is parented to. You can parent objects to a specific body part, so if a character is holding something you parent it to the hand they are holding it in. If you are adding body parts to a figure it is more likely that you want to parent them. In Daz Studio you can parent by dragging and dropping things in the Scene tab or right clicking them and using the Change Parent command.
That's exactly why I suggested to use the 'Parent to' option for body parts as the OP specically said he was trying to use a body part on a figure. I very often do that for alternate male genitals.
Thanks everybody. Tutorial was from Sickleyield for DAZ and covered making V4/M4 stuff compatible with G2. I finally think that "conform to" meant "fit to" as fitting a compatible object should not trigger the auto-fit menu. Well did not work anyhow so I need to fiddle around some more. At least I can stop looking for a "conform to" command which is not there ;-)
Fitting V4/M4 stuff to Genesis 2 should trigger autofit. I'm pretty sure autofit to the original Genesis is included with Daz Studio. You may have to buy a clone to get M4/V4 to Autofit on Genesis 2 but I'm not sure about this. There are advanced methods that do not require clones or autofit but I don't kow how those work.
