This goes for all of this series like gore-dom, rusti-cator, and grime-inizer. Are they primarily used through LIE? is LIE the only way to apply these? I will assume so. I still have no idea how to access these shaders still. Can anyone guide me using simple terms (I am a noob) and pics would help a LOT.
Also when I install it there is the usual runtime folder which I put in the right place as mostor all daz products but there is also a 'shader' folder. Am I supposed to put this anywhere? thx.

Assuming you're using Daz Studio and not Poser...
If memory serves right, they're shaders. That means you have to select the figure/clothing/object/whatever you want them to be used on, then go to the 'surfaces' tab and select all the individual surfaces you want to be affected. Then double-click the shader.
The end result might not be visible in the preview window (some shaders are like that), but should be visible in the render.
So, say you want a character to have bloody teeth: You'd select the character in question, go over to surfaces, make sure you only select the teeth, then apply the gore shader. And then make sure to unselect just the teeth if you want to continue working on the figure, as a whole.
And remember, CTRL + Z is your friend! If you don't like the look you've achieved, then do this to 'undo' what you've attempted and the result will vanish. :)
Welcome to the wonderful world fo shaders! They let you acheive all sorts of looks, from turning a character into a golden statue to making spaceships look like they are made out of tartan wool! Just be advised that some have isseus with Iray. Make sure you look to see if a shader product supports Iray or is made exclusively for Iray. That should let you know whether the best results will be achieved in 3Delight or Iray rendering.
I can't answer the question about installing. I only ever use the free auto-installer to take care of everything.
When you install, you don't have to move the Shader folder anywhere, it's fine right where it unzips to (which is adjacent to the runtime folder.)
A random quick test of selecting the surface of a cube then double-clicking on Cracks.ds in the Content Library shows that it is visible in the preview window too, however it is slow to apply, it took about 7 seconds on my system before it showed up, so you might think it didn't work for a moment, you just have to wait briefly.
Yeh still un-answered questions sorry.
You say go over to surfaces tab? where please. You mean at the top right or on the left in the library contents?
The surfaces tab can be accessed by going to the menu and selecting Windows > Panes(tabs) > Surfaces. I've circled it in my attached screenshot, but your layout might look different and it might be physically in a different place or a different size.
In this case the cube only has one surface called Default. Because I only had one surface I wanted to select, I didn't actually go to the surfaces tab myself, I simply clicked on the Surface Selection tool in the toolbar (also circled), then clicked on the surface of the cube to select it in this specific case.
Ok nevermind I installed it wrong to begin with.I got it now. Do you happen to know if there is a way to minimize the size of the shaders at all so its not actually spread all the way across something? what I mean by this is say if you wanted to have just small splodges of dirt on someones back would there be a way to do that rather than having to make the ENTIRE back look dirty? maybe I should leave this for another post. Anyway thanks for your help!
In the Content Library pane's search field, enter "Cracks.ds" (which is a random content thumbnail from one of the products) and run the search, which should give you that content thumbnail in the search results. Right-click on it and select Categorize from the conext menu, then follow the highlighted path through your content library until you find where it is, then exit and go there. Hopefully all the other content thumbnails are nearby and readily obvious.
Once you find them, if you haven't already, you can select them all, right-click and Categorize and then move them to a location where you will remember where they are.
