Iray -> Lux vs 3Delight -> Lux

I've to an extent goten the hang of Iray and setting up shaders for it and so on. (not so much on the lights yet, but some what those too).

I'm wondering how Iray set stuff works for Lux (though Reality, I guess). 

I know with 3Delight based stuff, Reality does a kind of best guess transformation, then you do a bunch of manual tweaking. Does it do the same with stuff set up for Iray? Does it do it better? (Are there "lux" shaders that transform over easier than the 3Delight or Iray ones?)

I guess an added part of this question would be iray into Luxor (since it's on sale)
