Hi,
I'm having problems with the genesis morphs. I have genesis 2 female body morphs installed. But it doesnt seem to be working. I cant even apply an expression pose. and theres no morph controls for the face when I have that selected. I've tried re-installing it. But still no luck.
I am using the newest version of Daz. on a Mac.
Any ideas?
Dale

I'd check for unmapped/nested content folders.
Thanks for the reply. I doubt I'd know what I was looking for even if I tried. I'd think the instal manager would keep that from happening. Just a month ago I did a complete re-install on my main computer. Wierd thing is everything seems to work Ok on my laptop. Just not my desktop computer
If you used the Install Manager, then there is a chance that the 'unmapped' content folders is what the fault is. By default the DIM does not install to the same location as the default Studio location.
Bring up the Content Directory Manager: Edit > Prefences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager (yes, that's the long way to get there, but works in all OS/layouts). Then take a screenshot of the expanded content folders...post that.
If the content Directory manager is a file. I cant find it. Doing a search for those terms. I came up with "Content Directory manager.dsb, and dzContentDirectoryManager.dse" Both are documents. No files showed up using those terms.
Inside DS, from the top menu bar: Edit > Prefences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager
For future reference. Thats not under the Edit menue, at least not on the Mac version. Its under the Daz Studio menue. Is this the screen shot you want?
Also, pardon the delay. For some reason updated posts to the forums are not being notified through E-mail like they used to for some reason. Also, I've only got at most a couple more hours to work on this today.
Sorry, yes, on a Mac it's just Preferences.
You've got a lot of nested folders there, which could be causing the problem.
I've been adding content since 2007, and transfering it from computer to computer while still adding content. I've no idea how to un-nest them without likely screwing things up. I have custom characters I'm not sure would survive a massive re-orginization. I've never really understood how the content directories are set up, And I understand the poser directories better. If I expanded the poser directory it runs way off the bottom of the computer screen. But those I know how to set up an manually import.
Generally speaking. I've always eventually found a way to make stuff work. Took me almost two years. But I've finally just recently gotten Daz to recognize Genesis two content. Except the morphs.
The only fix that comes to mind. Is to move the morph files to the top? But which files? I havent a clue. Would that work?
This is my long standing gripe about Daz. Who knows, maybe it only applies to me. But I've always just used the installers and trusted them to put the files where they belong. Same way I just used the install manager to re-install 2400 (took a week) downloads of Daz content. Install manager put the files where it thought they should go. In my opinion they should work.
Where do you have DAZ Install Manager set to install content?
And in that list, there are no My Library or My DAZ 3D Library listings...did you change to DIM to install to one of the existing locations? If not, it probably has stuff in a My DAZ 3D Library somewhere. You can check the paths everything installed by the DIM has...in the DIM. Open it and go to the Installed tab and slect a product, if you have Show Detail there will be a button to show the file list (or right clicking on an item should bring up a context menu with the file list as an option...or clicking on the right arrow at the end of the product line).
You can tell the install manager where to install stuff? Whatever its default location. Thats where she goes. My primary hard drive, apllications folder is where Daz is located. I'd assume thats where the instal manager puts the stuff.
Got to look at me like a guy that drives a car. But doesnt give a rats ass what makes an internal combustion engine tick. Same with Daz. I use the interface to create 3d art. no idea, or at least minimal idea how it does what it does.
mjc1016. I'll have to look at that tomorrow if I have time and try and decipher your last post. Out of time today. Have to head to work soon. If either of you have more to add. Feel free. I'll check it out when I get back home
And thanks for both your time and effort.

Okay, in that case the location DAZ Install Manager is installing to isn't in DAZ Studio's Content Directory Manager. In DIM, go to Settings (the gear icon in the upper right) > Installation, and copy that path to both "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats" in DS Content Directory Manager.
quick addition; If I'm reading this right. All the files should be being downloaded to
/users/shared/Daz 3d/installmanagerdownloads
Seems pretty straight forward. I honestly dont see how the install manager is screwing it up. Cause I never changed anything.
The path appears to be
/users/share/My DAZ 3d Library.
Still seems pretty hard to screw up to the untutered such as myself

Those are the download and install paths, but as Mike said, that install path isn't mapped in your Content folders...
Last post for tonight. If its not mapped. How is smart content working at all? Just this weekend I finally was able to re-imprt the meta data and get Genisis 2 and 3 to show all the content I've bought in the last two years. It was when I was testing it. I found out that its showing all the characters and props. Olympia bundle amongst others. But the morphs appear to be the only thing not working
I will add. The stuff in smart content is not showing up in my content directory. But it does all appear to be showing up in smart content. And appears to load but without the morphs.
Ahh well. I'll review the last several posts some more tomorrow, and see where we stand. I have to get a little sleep before going to work.
Thanks
Dale
Smart Content (as well as Products and Categories in the Content Library pane) are driven by the CMS database -- they will show even if they are not in a path known to DAZ Studio.
The Body Morphs don't have morphs for the face you need the Head Morphs for that.
Face morphs will show up when you have the whole figure selected.
Scorpio, I have all the morph bundles, or at least the basic ones. I figured the problem was bigger than just the V4 body morphs. But I'm discussing that to keep things simple.
I need to check. But isn't there a command to map unmapped directories? Shouldn't that fix the problem with a little luck?
correction I meant V6 body morphs. I'm also assuming M6 isn't working either, though i havent tested him
