email notifications stopped?

Has anyone else seen this? Someone showed me how to switch email notifications on, and it was working for me yesterday, but today there have been several updates to threads I've commented on but I've had no email notifications. I checked the setting in my profile and it is still switched on.

    Did you bookmark the threads?   There is a star next to the gear icon on the first post of a thread which needs to be checked.   It shows up in orange once it is checked.

    Bookmarking threads? That's something new, I'm sure I didn't have to do that in the old forums. And I think I was getting emails yesterday without this. I'll give it a go.

    Just out of interest, the only thread I got a notification for was this one and I hadn't bookmarked it, the star is not orange. Does the system make an exception for threads that you start?

    Yes   Threads you start are automatically bookmarked.  I cursed when I discovered that as I had to go through the list and remove the bookmarks for all the threads I had started in the old forum and forgotten about because most of them were so old they weren't getting any replies.
