Ok, I'm following a transfer v4 shoes to G2F tutorial
http://tgunner.deviantart.com/art/Properly-Fit-V4-High-Heel-Boots-To-Gn-G2F-in-DS-415844275
It mentions as a way of keeping toe bends from distorting the shoes, to set the limits of Bend/Twist/Rotation to 0/0 for the toes(and children) of the shoes.
It seemed to work brilliantly on one set I tried. On the second..nope.
Despite the parameters being set, bending the toes bends the shoes. There a way to prevent this?

I've had no luck finding a solution for this...I haven't tested the boots it seemed to work on yet (been busy with a render)....maybe THIS is where i look at rigidty..
I had the same problem and was unable to found a solution.
I've given up on converting V4 heels to Genesis unless they are A) separate L and R objects and B) don't have an ankle or calf part. Then, it's only minor work to just use them as props parented to the feet, and forget about the conforming.
That said, *sometimes* there is a V4 ankle-high heel or even boot that magically works. Haven't found many, but I load it just to see. It pays to at least try.
This, and the V-divot on many V4 dresses shows the autofit clone feature still needs some developmental attention.
Yeah..I'll likely go the object route, because even with everything look pretty good, the ankle part of the boot is warped.
Weirdly to your statement, the boots that worked were a left and right as one thing, and were up the shin/below knee.. they're bigger/chumkier, so maybe that lets them have more tolerance to the changes/hides the problems more.
They aren't the TreadZ boots by any chance?
They converted over easily for me....
Also, for Autofit to work nicely, two things need to happen. One is, of course a decent clone but the other is that the iten being converted needs to have geometry that will convert nicely. Often this means higher density of polygons than was typical on a lot of older clothing or a somewhat different 'flow'. Many times, Autofit will only get you 'most of the way' there...you'll still need to go and make a 'fit morph' to end up with a perfect fit.
No..they're lynda boots, but they're similar in shape to treadz.

I did find the ankle boots above looked better just using autofit, then the transfer utility process i linked to, but the cuff at the ankle got wavy when it was supposed to be straight.
Are there more decent clones out there than the v4 one?
SickleYield's Rigging and Morpphing System is better for some things...but generally, not unless you tweak it yourself, no.
Yes, it's for generation 4 to Genesis, mostly, but I've found that stuff converted with it tends to convert from Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 better. You can also rig directly with it...which is what I use it for, mostly.
So you go v4 to Genesis and then geneses to gen2?
Yes...it's a two step process. But I've had some really nice results going that way.
