An apology...

Well... I... Eh,hem.. Would like to apologize for my comment yesterday about worst forum format ever...

And any other mean stuff I may have said.

I selected the dark theme now, which is better for my eyes (thank you) and at some point yesterday the forum stopped doing the loopy sign in/ sign out thing and some other really weird stuff it was doing... So now it seems stable.

I'm really not crazy about the way we have to post images, but since it seems like most sites these day are leaning towards URL linked images over direct upload, I suppose it's neither unusual or unexpected.

So... To whomever was working hard at setting all this up...  It's not at all "like crows pecked at my eyeballs until they fell out into my hot and spicy jalapeño soup and then when I put them back in there were fire ants all over them"...

That was really mean and unfair of me and I really suck as a human being and professional penguin wrestler.

Thank you for your efforts and hard work.

I guess I was mostly shocked and confused because I had been away from the forums for several days and when I came back everything was shockingly new and confusing.

I hate change.

It makes me gassy.

I was also upset about losing an important penguin wrestling match too.

It was a long week too and I didn't even get to blow stuff up on the Fourth of July... All I got to do was drive past dozens of fireworks stands and tents on the roadside on my way back home... It was like they were just there to taunt me... Just out of reach... Beckoning for mayhem...

So there was that too.

I suppose the frustration caught up with me and I took it out on you people... And that stupid slow squirrel who tried to catch my boot when I threw it at him.

I should probably apologize to him too, but since I hate him thats not gonna happen.

If you are reading this, I hate you Greg... Stop tearing up my friggin tomatoes you fuzzy tailed tree rat!

I suppose Greg probably isn't reading this, but since I don't really know much about the secret lives of squirrels... who knows for sure.

Anyway... Thanks for all the hard work and probably dedication too and sorry I lashed out at you.

I'd buy you a beer, but I'm really cheap and don't know how to email it anyway, so my peculiar and disorienting apology and thanks will have to do.

Sorry and thank you.

    Very nice apology.

I will add one thing. I kind of like externally linked images. There's way too many sites that take liberties with uploaded images, making all sorts of bizarre "rights grabs". You can easily turn off your external images.

A test image. Instead of the image button, I used "Attach a File" below the text box.

    Embedded with the image button.

There are themes for the new forum? Where?

Up at the top next to the shopping cart, below the self destruct icon is an icon of a little person (or a lump with a ball floating over it)... The one you use to sign in to your account...?

Click on it and in the drop down menu you should see "Switch Themes"... So far there is only a dark theme, but that's what I'd choose anyway.

say, that is nice. I'm going to click on Capitan Pike again and see what other secrets he gives up.

Was this Greco/Antarctic penguin wrestling or Marques of Queensburry rules?

I just love McGyver and his posts.  Over at Hivewire when I was so sick he popped into my thread there and cheered me up a couple of times.  Great sense of humor mixed in with great advice!  Great apology and I completely understand.

Yea the dark and light themes is right there, top right where you would sign in drop down thing.  "Switch Theme" and it will give you a dark theme if your using the light one and reverse if your using the dark theme.  I like Dark.... dark meat, dark skin, darkness, dorks... wait.... uh... never mind........... cheeky

I'm going to use this thread to upload an image... then I'll try to get it to show up in the post.... gotta figure this out...

OK... bit fidgety to get the one embedded in the post but I guess that works OK!  What I find annoying is that instead of a pop up image window it opens in the current page, then you have to hit the back button to get back to the posts... be nice if it would auto open in a new tab.

You likely already know this, but, hover over the link; right click, open in new tab

I use this almost exclusively anymore. It opens the link of interest without losing my place on the original page. Great in galleries, too.

If you're changing an option/setting, though, you'd have to refresh the original page anyway to see the changes.

Will that morph be available on the store? it would be an instabuy.

    I be he...

    Um...

McGyver has been a real nickname of mine for years.

For some reason when I first started at DAZ, it refused to let me use that username so I chose one of my alter-personalities... Lord Vicore...

It was that, Teddy Roosevelt or Electron Man... Electron man was a harder sell for me, because those were some of my darker days... More anti-hero... Less caped do-gooder (that damn cape is a pain)... Ever since the Great Depression not as many people enjoy my Teddy Roosevelt antics, so I chose my darker persona... Lord Vicore...

I still had to wear a cape, but it was more of a stylish Darth Vader kind of cape... But I also got to wear my Viking helmet too. So that was a plus.

I bet you never knew that whenever I posted as Lord Vicore I was wearing the whole outfit... Trust me it was a pain. I know I could have asked Richard Haseltine to go in and change my username, but I figured he is always busy and it probably involved a ritualistic goat sacrifice (I believe the earlier forum software did) or something like that... and besides I have enough goats angry at me as it was, so I just left it.

Well, when I found out I could goatlessly change it myself, I whipped off the old outfit and burned it out in the yard... Let me tell you... I probably should have washed it at least once over the seven or eight years, because that thing BURST into flames, and I'm pretty sure I heard the tortured screams of a thousand different odor demons as it did. I also probably should have put on some clothes before I did that because not only did I singe most of my body hair, the UPS lady who was waiting for me to sign for a package, was very shocked... Not really all that shocked, as she has met me before... But still semi-shocked.

Luckily I was still wearing the Viking helmet, so I wasn't totally naked, and in retrospect I really like the helmet anyway.

But yes, as Chohole has said... Lord Vicore is now McGyver.

I have no idea why I felt the need to explain that, but then again, I have no idea why I do anything I eventually do.

It is a morph... A horrible, horrible, horrible morph...

Actually the new forum software will allow a special DIM ito install it over all G3 figures in one's possession, for six months as a penalty for anyone having too many negative attitude posts on the forums...

    It's in the new TOS.

Everyone should be very, very nice to Chohole now... The button is right in front of her.
