What is current method of doing this?

Please dont say "The same as before" because it has been over two years since I last did that here, so I've deleted that information from my brain to save room for other stuff.

Thank you in advance for any helpnon this subject.

You can't make a banner image which automagically links AFAIK

Editing to add:-  I see you have posted your banner image into another thread.   Click on it to get it full size and then right click and copy the image info.

Next click on your name, click the gear icoan at the right hand side, then click edit profile,  You should see "Signature Settings" at the bottom of the next drop down list.

Click on the insert image thingyummy up on the top bar there^^^, it's the icon to the right of the flag and insert it there, you should now have an image in your banner.

Links are done with the "link" icon to the left of the flag.  As you can see I changed to colour of my links to make them stand out more as I am using the dark theme.

So no more clickable banners... that sucks.

Oh well... No Signature for me then.

    Thanks Chohole.

If you right-click on the image in the Signature set-up, in 'Image Properties' there is a tab which allows you to set a link.  I have just done it for mine.

Aha    thanks for that.  I hadn't found that one.

    Thanks!

    Okay... It seems to work...

But it is in a weird place... it looks like a posted image.

I'm curious how to move my banner down more... Both Cayman and Chohole seem to have the banner at the bottom of the post field... Mine seems to be way up within the field, not below it.

Should it be smaller? Its about 98 x 764 right now... or is there some setting to bring it down to the bottom?

This is only my opinion, but I have to say these new enlarged banners make the forums look like a cluttered mess.

I added a horizontal line before the image  using the insert horizontal line command     the one   up there  ^ on the top of the type panel,  the one wiv all the lines on it.

I find them a pain too. When scrolling down the page, all my eyes see is big signature images one after another. Then the posted images are barely larger than the avatars. Great design choices for a graphics forum.  no

Okay... Testing again using Chohole's advice...

    Edited to add...

Awesome! It works!... Thanks Chohole and Cayman for the advice!... I'll try making the banner smaller too, so as to not take up too much space and forum real estate.

I learned from MEC4D that you can turn off the signatures! Edit your forum profile to do so. It makes a world of difference!

...OK so I entered my text, added my fluttery flutterbys below like normal, but only the text shows in the forums even though the flutterbys appear in the edit window whenever I open the sig in my profile settings.

Can we make the default for banners "disabled"? Seems to be an opt-in sort of thing, to me.
