I think it is a 'word wrap' setting...it's begging to look like it may be down to a configuration issue with either email readers or providers . A link, for wrapping purposes is all one word...and a 'short' word length will break a link. Start counting how many characters are displayed as a link. That might be more useful in trying to figure it out.
Got that nice, ANNOYING, note... "hang on a second while we sign you out" I have so many cuss words in my mind right now... WHY sign me out, why not see that it's my browser and sign me back in?? I am signed in at work and here at home. Two places. Apparently this place can't handle that idea! Sheesh
Actually, that's a pretty common thing when going to places from multiple devices/locations. Except it's 'silent' and you don't know it's happening. Most sites, these days, don't actually allow multiple logins to the same account.
When you paste images and select the Blank_window so a window will pop up and they X out (so as not to leave the original location) whenever the text "Image has been resized to fit blah blah blah" appears it is now erasing that action. People have to hit Back to get back to the thread.
And can we PLEASE get that text removed anyway?
Look at this post- I had the images side by side, nicely lined up, and that stupid text is shoving one down because it came up on top of the second image and shoved it down.

And I see the "Quote" button is sort of shoved in between them. Downright weird — it can't have been supposed to work like this, surely...?
Well, speaking 20% tongue in cheek, I'll bet it's because 80% of readers here are over 50.
Okay, maybe not that many. Or maybe more are. But I'll bet more than not use reading glasses when squinting at the aspirin bottle to discern how many caplets makes a dose.
True in my case. 54 headed towards 55 fast as quicksilver. Eyes suck! I use an addon for Firefox that allows me zoom control per site. Comes in handy but I tell you for this site, I was able to put the zoom to default 100%, kinda nice!
Pushing 67, near-sighted and wearing glasses since I was 5; doesn't make any difference, there's just too much empty space on the forum pages. And I'm not interested in doing mobile - I'm a crotchety old man as far as mobile devices go.
A special addon just for that? Try holding down the Ctrl key and move your mouse scroll wheel! No addon needed!

I'm sure this has been asked and answered somewhere.
But I forgot my forum shovel upstairs.
Is there anyway (or something in the works) just to search a particular forum ... like just the Freebie Forum for example.
Or even search a particular thread ... like the Iray thread.
It is just so difficult to find anything anymore.
Mobile devices should come in pairs with clips to clip onto a pair of eyeglasses...
Thanks. I learn something new everytime I come here. .....like everyone here is kinda old
With a virtual heads-up display that projects to a legible size. First requirement for a mobile device- it's gotta fit in an existing pocket; if a hip pocket, it will flex and if it breaks it will not be replaced; if a front pocket, it rides on the right with the keys and change or the left with the knife and nail clippers - and the screen needs to be 100% scratch proof. If I'm expected to view web information on it, scrolling is only permitted in one direction. And it will never have email or personal information of any kind on it. I don't (and won't) do web-based mail.
Told you I was a crotchety old man on mobile - it's a phone - you use it to talk to people you can't physically see at the moment.
I wouldn't be inclined to agree there. I use an Outlook email address and Windows Live to read them. Until this new forum kicked in all links were displaying correctly. Now it seems to be random as to what will and won't. I don't think it's a word wrap either as the links are broken by an = being placed in them and it's random as to where in the link this appears. I think this is an issue your end and needs more investigation.
CHEERS!
If you are having issues you could submit a help request. with details. With any bug the information submitted by those experiencing is helpful, especially when it is a bug that isn't affecting everyone.
Well, I'm no spring chicken! That being said, even the space on the new forum layout is huge (all the padding & the default paragraph formatting for line spacing). Seems obvious that it was a conscious design choice and change from the more compact & efficient look before.

Hah, beating you, 55 and ... er, no wait ...
An advanced search would be nice, to give the ability to restirct to specifc fora and also to restrict to usernames, maybe even with a date range. Not to mention returning either thread titles or posts. Did a search day before yesterday and my scroll bar dropped to Australia as ove rhalf the returns were posts from a number of posts which looked to be a German verson of RRRR.
I use Windows Live Mail and it is displaying the full URL and linking directly to the post. Which server are you using?
It does not need to double as a camera, alarm clock, 'planner', shopping list or any number of other things...it may play music..but that's it, in addition to being a phone.
On my laptops and desktops, I definitely use CTRL+ and CTRL- all the time, but it's annoying, becauase IE, Firefox, and Chrome don't "remember" the last settings I used for the last time I used that combination of computer, browser, monitor, and website. The trouble for me is that I am left-handed, and almost nobody makes a leftie mouse with middle button or wheel. The best I can hope for is a uni-mouse with a simulated middle mouse button/simulated wheel (Microsoft cordless mouse that bends flat for easy packing) or my main choice, a uni designed Logitech trackball, which has no middle button.
Even if I could find a leftie mouse with a middle button, it would still require two hands to zoom in or out. For me, right hand on CTRL, left hand on mouse button. CTRL+ and CTRL-, on the other hand (see what I did there?), is only a one-handed operation; both right-handed for me. But still annoying.
So RAMWolf, this Firefox addon you speak of...is it capable of "remembering" the last zoom you used on a given site, and defaulting back to that zoom the next time you visit? If so, such a feature would be a big convenience to me. As I said, I already use CTRL+ and CTRL-.
Slightly Off Topic: And since we're talking about user interfaces, there's an unrelated item that bugs me on mobile devices. I'll mention it here in case anybody knows of such an app...
Android devices will let you zoom in/out to a content section of a web page, then with a double-tap on that content, the Android browser will re-flow the content. Well, it worked this way a long time ago when I had a Droid X. But I use an iPhone now, mostly for security purposes. iOS lets you zoom, but does not re-flow, causing the user to have to scroll left-right as well as up-down to read the text. Most obvious example: forums.
Anybody with suggestions on this one?
Amazon sells a lot of Lt handed mice.
What is Jimmy using? We need to assess just how common this is first.
CHEERS!
I really couldn't tell you, which email provider are you using!?
CHEERS!
Sorry, I missed this post. I too am using Windows Live Mail, on Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. About 1 out of 20 emails from the forum come in correctly, the rst are like shown below, sometime there is only an 'h' on the first line, followed by 'ttp.' and the rest of the URL on the second line.
Are you with outlook?
The same kind of thing happens to me. Below is my link for your reply. Until the new forums came in I never had this problem.
CHEERS!
That sounds very similar to the bug I see at random times in Yahoo! Groups postings (read on the Y! website) splitting up long URLs. Typical of Y!, sometimes this doesn't actually break its linkability, sometimes it does.
Mind you, Y! Groups have been thoroughly broken ever since their last (not-so-)Great Redesign nearly two years ago now...
I've gotten lots of forum notifications in the last hour, but I haven't gotten a corresponding email for any of them. Does DAZ send email out in batches with big delays in between?
It's been that long already?
But yes, it's broken long links...and it's related to how it wraps them. Heck, it may even be down to what the original character encoding was. Because a '.' in UTF is not the same as it is in ISO so, the wrapping function may be 'confuzzled'...and be sticking in the wrong charcter, so it breaks instead of wraps.
