MC6, PP2 in Studio official word please....

For a long time I could apply MT5 material files to poser props inside studio by changing a line in the file. Studio didn't read the niceties of poser materials but it would load the diffuse for me so I wouldn't have to hunt around for textures.

No more. That's fine, they weren't very useful in Studio...

But later I could read mC6's without doing anything. Again jpgs would load (not all) but I'd have a place to start.

Now I can only apply MC6 files to figures NOT props. Why? What can I as a user do about it?

Can you give an example of a prop that isn't taking .mc6's made for it? I'm not aware of any changes.

It's an age old issue with props in both DS and Poser, to get MAT files to work the prop has to be named inside the MAT file, the MC6 changed that in Poser, but DS is still stuck with it.

Open the PP2 file in a text editor

Near the top you'll see a line starting with prop

Highlight the line to copy it but stop before you get to the colon.

Now open the MC6 in a text editor

Replace the line mtlCollection with what you just copied from the PP2

    Save the modified MC6.

    Thank you!!! It works!
