Is anyone using Unity to take photos.

Hi :),

So I want to start taking photos using Daz and Unity and I was wondering if anyone has attempted to do this. And if so have any tips for setting up lighting. I noticed with direct lighting the skin looks unatural and harsh, while point lights seems to give a better result.

And has anyone used raytracing or path tracing.

Thanks

I think hans_vet would like to know, how to setup the scene in Unity with Daz assets

    to get a photoreal rendering.

I am personally looking forward to some set up in Unity,

to achieve renders of similar quality to iray ones in Daz Studio.

Yes screenshots, but I'd like to know how people are setting up their lighting and which lighting settings are they using.

Hi Artini, yes I'm very interested in the lighting setup. And what settings people are using. For now I've been using 3 point lights, 2 at the back of the model and on at the front.

Have you tried to use GI (Global Illumination)?

There is a free one on GitHub:

I have just tested a commercial version of GI for Unity HDRP - Lumina GI - one of example scenes.

Below are example Unity renders of Gia 8 character from Daz 3D.

Another example from Unity, using Lumina HDRP

Yes. But I'll try the one from github. Also have you found any skins that work in Unity?

Most of the Daz 3D characters transferred via Daz to Unity bridge works well in Unity.

If you wish to have even more quality to the skin, you need to play with the materials in Unity

or choose some characters already made for Unity.

As far as I found on different YouTube videos, to have some really nice rendered characters

in Unity requires a lot of time - some people refine their characters during the years of experiments.
